I grew up and live in Chicago. I don’t usually get pizza when I’m out of town because I’m usually left disappointed. This place is an outlier to that. Place this in the middle of Chicago and it’d be one of the greats.

Five star reviews sometimes give me pause. Can it really be that good, or was it a one-off? I haven't eaten eveything on the menu, but what I've had has always been spot-on. My favorite is the Deep Dish Supreme, which comes heavy on ingredients and perfectly flavored sauce. Add to this the friendly and efficient employees, and Mother Bear's Pizza has earned my five stars.

We were done eating for twenty minutes before the waitress stopped by to check on us. The place wasn't very busy. Looked like they were busy hanging out at the hostess desk instead of being on top of service.

I came back to Ma Bear's after a ten year hiatus of not living here. It hasn't changed, quality is exactly as good; the pan pizzas hit just right with the cheese sizzled on the edges and everything. It's always great.

Parking: Tiny lot, limited spots specifically for the restaurant. Close to businesses that won't allow after-hours parking.

Pizza is good but not exceptional. Probably not worth making a special trip to Bloomington but it is a fun place and an IU staple so worth a visit if you are in town. I've been going there for years and even after their expansion, the tables are still uncomfortable. Service is always solid
