To start out with, the cheese sticks are the best I've ever had! The cheese sticks are definitely five stars. The rest of my experience was.....meh. Three stars at best. Twice the waitress got my friends order (main entree and then later dessert) and then walked away before I could even say anything. All of the TVs had some kind of sports playing which is fine. My friend did not finish her cheesecake because she said it tasted like the refrigerator contents.
It was my second time coming here. The first time I came in months ago it smelled liked mildew so I walked out. I was the only one in the restaurant when I ordered my food. The food is great. I ordered the mozzarella sticks and a hamburger. They have many different toppings and sauces to make the perfect burger. The interior isn't well kept. The tables and chairs are old and worn out. The salt and pepper on the table was sticky, there was food on the floors and the ambience...
Opie has really tasty food at decent prices. They had the main door open and it was a little warm in there the last time I was there. And the tables are sticky and could use a refinishing because you feel like they're dirty even though they're not. But the building and the restaurant are rich in history and are a must-see when you come to Bloomington. Food is very good but the restaurant left a lot to be desired the last time I was there
