We went for dinner before a show at IU. I'm not always a BBQ fan but I really liked this. I debated between the grilled chicken sandwich and the pulled meat sandwich which I wound up getting chicken anyways. It was more sliced than pulled and I thought it was small. Well it filled me up plus cornbread and an extra mac n cheese that had a bit of a kick to it. My bf got the meat tray with 1/2 lb of pork belly. Again it didn't look like much but it was a challenge for him to finish with a baked potato side.

Never left a review before, but I'd have been happier if I skipped lunch today.

Emily at SmokeWorks was the most delightful person I think I’ve ever met! Staff was super accommodating with our large group and food was delicious!

The beer and atmosphere were great. The food we ate was just barely ok. They were sold out of several items, so maybe those options are great. The wings and ribs, not too good and service was pretty bad. I would give them a second chance, but this experience was pretty bad.

If i could give 0 stars i would. They took forever to seat us. Then we get to the seats and order our drinks. Then we ordered our food and the waitress came back and said “we actually only have pulled pork left tonight” so instead of making it just the 1/4 lb. She said they couldnt change it cause it was already sent to the kitchen. Then when i asked for more sauce, they were out of that too. They were out of everything.
Also the booths are losing their fabric so it sheds off and sticks to your clothes.
I would not recommend.

Incredibly poor service and food quality. Despite going here while the restaurant was near empty, service took long for basic requests like utensils, condiments, refills, and getting our checks. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich, mac and cheese, and a loaded potato. The sandwich was incredibly dry and flavorless even with adding sauce, and the mac and cheese was lukewarm and runny.

Smoke Works used to be better and I feel like the food quality has changed. The staff is always attentive but for a place with smoke in the name the meat doesn't seem to have seen much if any smoke. The ribs were tough and even with a knife they weren't falling off the bone. The pork had no sign of smoke but a heavy amount of BBQ sauce to flavor it. The Brisket was the best of the bunch but not a lot of smoke. The food doesn't taste bad but in terms of being great BBQ it isnt. Seems to be oven or electric smoker cooked based on color (lack there of), flavor (powered by bbq sauce rather than the cooking process) and texture.
Big positive here is an amazing bourbon offering. For those who like Buffalo Trace Distillery they have Pappy Van Winkle, Wellers Reserve, Blantons, Col Taylor and a few other hard to find batches.

In town to visit my son. He wanted to give this bbq place a try. On a Wednesday at 6pm it was empty. Perhaps it was a Wednesday? The server, Emily, was the best! The Memphis style BBQ was average. Brisket was old and dry. Pork, not hard to mess up, however no flavor. Sausage was over cooked. Perhaps it was the time of day and day of week. I’ll give it another try on a weekend. Just average.

If you’re looking for smokehouse barbecue, this is not the place to go to. The hostess and staff were really nice, but I waited a really long time to get served after they sat me down at my table. After they got my order, it also took them a long time to bring me my drinks, and the place wasn’t all that really busy. I had the pitmaster plate and the food was just kind of meh, It wasn’t horrible, but I guess I was expecting a little bit more thinking it was a smokehouse barbecue restaurant. Some people really liked it. It was kind of okay for me. It wasn’t bad at all, but I think I’m good.
