They don’t serve you like they did before Covid but we’ve been a few times recently and the food is always fresh, the workers are polite when you do interact with them, and it’s as clean as a place like that can be. We stopped going during covid cause the food was never fresh, the workers were rude and didn’t want any interaction with a customer, and the place was dirty. I’m glad whatever changed, changed. We will keep going back.

I came through at 9:30 not realizing they didn’t open for another half hour. The guy was so nice, I had explained that my mother in law was on hospice and requested a chocolate shake from here as her last wish. He not only made her one even though they weren’t open yet, but he gave it to me for no charge. She absolutely loved it and we are so blessed that they were able to fullfill her last wish. We’re incredibly thankful thank you so much.

We had boycotted Steak ‘n Shake for years from a bad experience in Indy; however the location in Bloomington has changed our opinion. The staff is great, the atmosphere is clean and the food is fresh. We will be back soon

They not only lost me ever coming back but my client that comes twice a week won't be back either. we were in line at the drive-thru to get food and we only had 3 cars in front of us and was willing to wait and someone at the Box said that their computer just now shut down and was laughing about it and then when we passed the window.the woman who looked like a manager was laughing and had this funny smirk on her face. The computer system never got shut down there to lazy to have a rush.
Steak n Shake has had some ups and downs as a company. The one has a new owner. Very nice individual. I used to manage for S&S, so when I dined in this time, I was watching little things like fountain times and the runs the grill was turning. Not only was the service great and the food cooked perfectly to spec, the atmosphere and teamwork was excellent. If your S&S experiences in the last few years have been as spotty as mine, give this restaurant a try. This owner and staff deserve it.
