Not based off food but experience. Wandered around Bloomington for a couple of hours and decided to grab an early dinner on a Saturday. This was not the place for us. They had a very limited menu. I think it's mostly pizza. We were not greeted and found a table by ourselves. This is probably a more laid back restaurant. Sat there for 5 mins till we realized you might have to order at the bar. Wasn't greeted at the bar either. After a couple minutes we decided to leave and find something different.

Update 2023: they serve pizza again but the quality has gone way downhill in my opinion. They still offer Nashville-based Be-Hive vegan meats. Update 2022: no longer serves pizza Cute brewery downtown with vegan pizza! They use vegan cheese and vegan sausage and pepperoni from Nashville. There are several vegan pizzas on the menu or you can build your own. Lots of interesting beers, ciders, and hard seltzers. They have board games and outdoor seating as well. They treat their employees well too (no tipping and they pay a living wage with benefits). Updated from previous review on 2024-01-09

There was an IU basketball game at 6, tried about 3 restaurants around 4:30 without avail for our party of 6. Luckily we were by Switchyard to accommodate the kids and us with some live music, good drinks and pizza. You order at the bar, and seating is a free for all. You get a number and then they deliver the food to the number.. (one person was able to get a Tom Hanks photo instead of a number.)Pizza was good, they were packed, so service was a little slow. But you can tell everyone was working as hard as they could. I think I only saw 3 employees for the whole space, so I def commend them. The breadsticks had like a sour kick to it. Like maybe they use sourdough? Regardless it was good. We left happy and full of carbs and cheese.

My husband and I came here for trivia night last week and had a great time! We love trivia, and Switchyard's settup was one of the better ones we've experienced. The beer here is good and the environment is lively. Plus after 9pm, pizza is only $2! We love a deal.

Our department at work used Switchyard for a 2-hour welcome event with about 30-35 guests, and it could not have been better! The food was delicious (including vegetarian and GF selections), and the service was tremendous. Switchyard worked with us for a few months before the event, and they were so helpful, making it super easy to plan our event. Our guests had a great time and they enjoyed the food. We had a very positive experience, and we will be back!

Great atmosphere, super inviting and nice staff. Seemed like a great choice for a pizza and beer while visiting our college student ! We enjoyed the ease of ordering from our table but walking to the bar to grab a beer . Half the place was taken over by Dads & Daughters for an IU sorority event but they were all having so much fun we enjoyed seeing people working , families eating and all ages in this place ! Pizza came out great - wish we ordered more . We will definitely be back great beer selections we had two IPAs we loved so that's a big bonus good pizza and beer

By far my favorite brewery to visit in Bloomington! I could mention so many reasons that I love to frequent Switchyard (beer, wine, pizza, friendly staff, atmosphere, so much space for activities & fellowship) but for this review I want to focus on Brunch Squad! Everything we tried was delicious and the portions were huge - this is immediately getting added to my list of favorite brunch locations. Here are the items we had below - I also added a photo of the menu in my review because I was unable to find it anywhere online. Egg Sammy: Farm Egg Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Siracusa Mayo, Scallions, American Cheese on a Brioche Bun Farmhouse Breakfast 'Za: 14 Inch - House Red Sauce, Sun Dried Tomato, Aged Mozzarella, Farm Egg, @fischerfarmsin Bacon, Avocado Breakfast Bowl: Scrambled Farm Eggs, Fischer Farms Bacon, Aged Mozzarella, Pecorino Romano, Sausage Gravy, Biscuit [Pro Top: add Hot Honey] Firehouse Biscuits & Gravy: Local Sausage, House-Made Gravy, Biscuits, Breakfast PotatoesDefinitely add to your list to checkout!

Beer is ok but food service is atrociously slow. One slice of pizza took 30 min when it wasn't crowded

This was a fun, low-key place to gather with friends. It was not too crowded, but busy enough to have a fun atmosphere. They have pizza by the slice in addition to more substantial menu items. The beer was delicious and we tried at least six different types between us, and everyone was happy and satisfied.

In the mood for good beer and pizza? Then head over to Switchyard Brewing! We shared a salad, meatballs and the pizza. The salad was fresh, loaded with a variety of greens and the lemon vinaigrette was refreshing. The meatballs were HUGE. Excellent flavor and I loved the sauce. The pizza was ridiculously large - had we known how big it was we probably would have gone with individual slices. That being said it was very tasty, NY style pizza. Needless to say we had plenty of leftovers. I enjoyed the strawberry sour and will definitely try more beers next time. I loved the atmosphere and enjoyed the live music! Kid and pet (outside) friendly which was nice.

The switchyard pizza is amazing! They rolled out part of their new pizza menu this week and both pieces I had were so tasty (personal fave is the veggie, twas garlicky and delicious).Mikey is an awesome bartender. Luke rocks euchre night.Love the new $5 pint special on Thursdays. Obviously I’ll be back.

Great place to grab a local brew. Staff is awesome, beers are great and always rotating, and the space is great for small to large groups. I also appreciate that the owners pay better than most in the area.

Enjoyed this family friendly spot and their outdoor patio. Staff was extremely friendly and generous in their welcome to the area and business.
