good food but waitress was less than desirable. we were told we needed to leave that they had others waiting on the table. we spent $160 with food and drinks, tipped very well. my first trip will be my last.

Great place, food was good and a great selection of beer. Cool old building with an interesting history.

Hadn’t been here in years. Was glad to see it was still in business. The food was good and reasonably priced but the service was horrible. Our waitperson didn’t know the answers to our menu questions & didn’t offer to find out. One person in our party didn’t get what they ordered & another’s meal wasn’t prepared as requested even though the waiter said it wouldn’t be a problem. We’ll probably try again & hope this was a fluke.

Was in town to drop son off at college. Looking for a place for lunch and found this. Food was great, good service. I recommend.

Rueben was excellent. Ceasar salad with applewood bacon was a big hit. Black bean burger was very good. Great service. Loved the bar area decor.

We drove over an hour to get to this restaurant. I'm hoping it was just an off day... Waiter looked bored and uninterested in us.. we ordered Eggs Benedict and Corned beef hash with eggs. Husband asked the waiter if the corned beef was cooked crisp.. we got a shrug. The "corned beef" was just big chunks of corned beef mixed with even bigger chunks of onion and red pepper. The whole experience was just "meh"

This was like having Cheers in Bloomington, although nobody knew my name. We sat near the back on the lower floor. It was a good feeling of being in a pub. The food was pretty good, too. I liked the fish sandwich and fries while the wife liked her salad and our friend liked her martini. The only downfall was that the restrooms were on the top floor and very small. Outdoor seating is available for a nice feel for downtown Bloomington.

We visited Bloomington yesterday for the Kate Mulgrew/Star Trek event. This restaurant was on a suggested list and they had fun Star Trek themed drinks so we decided to try it. I can't stop thinking about it. The food was absolutely wonderful. I'm sad I live so far away. The klingon bloodwine was fun and delicious as well.

We sat at the bar, which is gorgeous to sit at and admire. Drinks were perfect, food is perfect. Wish we lived here. There’s nothing in our Ohio area to compare. The leg of lamb was prepared so well and the beef onion soup to start is to die for. We will return for sure.

Love the atmosphere here! I am a collector of model sailing ships and I love the ones they have hanging from the ceiling. I had the Bangers and Mash tonight and it was yummy. I’m also a big fan of the coddle. All the food I’ve had here over the years has always been superior. If you’re a wine or whiskey connoisseur they have many choices. I usually just go for a cider or during cold weather a cup of grog or Irish coffee. Always a special time at The Lion.

The menu is a little sophisticated for a college town, but the quality of the food lives up to the price! From authentic Irish dishes to steak and potatoes, The Irish Lion delivers the fine dining experience you expect in a large city! The drink and wine menu is also the best in Bloomington by far!

Had the best waiter, food at our table was soup, salad and BLT which was very tasty. Then had some of best dessert ever-had cheesecake and the apple walnut cake. Very quaint decor

Irish lion restaurant is a terrific place to unwind, have a few drinks, a great meal, and some laughs. Their food is delicious, and now they have mac and cheese too! Stop by, you'll love it!

My reuben was fantastic, fries were hot and crispy, a nicely poured Guinness and friendly server. What's not to like? ??
