One of favorite B-town date spots especially when the Hoosiers are playing.

Was visiting Bloomington for an IU football game and we hung out at The Tap to watch. Great atmosphere with fun music, and despite being busy, our server was super attentive!! The tap fries were a perfect shareable for the table. I also really enjoyed and would recommend the haystack burger and celestia beer!

Hit up The Tap today after watching 7 year olds play football ? Nathan was great, informative, and paid attention, which are all qualities I look for in a server. Beer was great as usual. Food was great as usual. ?

Service was sub par. Certainly not staffed appropriately for a Friday evening in downtown Bloomington. Table next to us waited 50 minutes for a beer and finally got up and went to the bar themselves. We got our beer after a short wait but waited 30+ for our ticket and never had a return visit from our server with our check so tracked them down and threw her cash. Hope it was enough....

The Tap is exactly what it says it is: the place to go with friends get a variety of beers from all over. But don't let that distract you from the food- the kitchen is excellent, and much better than typical Bloomington bar food. Service is usually great. Staff is always friendly.

The 21+ requirement is all-day everyday… nonsense if you ask me.

They make an admirable effort here to define what I have come to hold as the quintessential standard for an acceptable Midwestern pub/tavern experience.
Come here for the trivia with friends after work to unwind and blather about what ails and entertains us; having a massive draft menu with classic American fare to accompany it means it's easy to just slide in and cut straight to the hangout part of your evening.
It's fairly expensive for what you're getting (hurts because I prefer eating to drinking anyways) but it's almost always quality and often an apt accompaniment to your poison of choice.
I'd be lying if my personal nostalgia and fondness for my friends didn't bump this place up to 5 stars, but perhaps that's what their trying to foster. So there you go. I like this one more than the West Lafayette location, tbh, sorry Purdue.

Awesome friendly bar, reasonably priced, and yummy eats. Not long after ordering my first drink and chatting a little with the bartender, she enlisted another patron and myself to help tackle a crossword puzzle and between working on the puzzle and nerding out over TV shows it was just such a pleasant experience. I gladly would have stayed there the whole day.
For drinks I started with the Bionic Dragon which was delicious, followed that with Ender of Planets (love the names), then a Sweet Baby Jesus, and another brew or two. Also had their ahi tuna tacos which were so tasty and a little spice kick to it which really made it a fine meal.
Not sure when will be the next time I'm in Bloomington but I'm for sure coming in for a drink and a meal if I'm in the area again!
