I have always loved the tap. it’s been my favourite place since college. but the service recently has been terrible. we had a table and literally sat for 25 minutes but didn’t get served. the waitstaff was too busy talking and on their phones (im not a boomer i swear). but how many times can you make eye contact without getting served? i mean come on?

Did not do a great job shoveling snow after Fern. Maybe a foot wide pathway was somewhat cleared. Legally, they need to clear 4.5 feet. I finished the job for them so people in wheelchairs could get around. Maybe next snow storm will be better.
Burgers here are reliably good btw. And I like when musicians play on the little stage above the bar.

Staff are extremely friendly, drink choices are nearly limitless, and the food satisfies what you'd expect from a brewpub. Pleasant atmosphere whether a game is on or not. It does get smokey (from the kitchen) inside at times, however.

My review keeps disappearing so I keep reposting it . The original review I have on Yelp. I came here for my anniversary in 2019. I had the awful waitress named Erica. The receipts to have her name on it in the pictures below. This lady started off okay. I ordered a hamburger with the cheese on the side tell us what the cheese on the side so I could put as much cheese on my stuff as I wanted and it wasn't just slathered on there. I had been here before so I knew how it was. My husband ordered a chicken Caesar salad. We got no refills this whole time. The waitress kept running over to the booth where her boyfriend and all of her other partners were and just talking smack about everybody. Very unprofessional. When I tried to let her know that the cheese was on the burger and all over the tater tots rolled her eyes, whatever I asked for it to me made correctly so then they brought me out a burger with nothing on it just a Patty and a bun no cheese on the side no lettuce tomato pickle onions nothing. Still brought me out another thing of tater tots with cheese on it so I gave up on that. My husband ceasar salad was spoiled. You could smell it you could taste it something about that salad was off. We let her know she rolled her eyes again .. Normally when there are multiple issues going on at a table you let your boss know or the manager on duty or whatever right? She did not. We were drinking banana beer that they had on the menu which was delicious but we kept having issues with the food. So two and a half hours go by we're ready to leave because obviously they can't make my burger correctly and they can't remake whatever my husband wanted I don't remember at this point. So we get the bill. Erica had charged me for the burger that I had not eaten as well as the chicken caesar salad which we still had on our table untouched with a piece of chicken spit out in a napkin next to it. We asked why they were still on the receipt because we didn't eat them she told us you ordered it you pay for it. I said that's not how it works mind you I am pretty calm at this point because I get that it's a misunderstanding she is not calm. So then I asked for a manager she straight up told me no and walked away and went over to her boyfriend's table. And she's refusing to talk to us at this point. So I get up and I go to the bar and I'm pretty upset at this point but I'm not yelling. I ask for the manager. The guy be on the counter asks what the issue is and I said I'm having a problem with the waitress and the food. So I talk with the manager there's a really tall guy I don't remember his name might be in the original review if you can find it. He had no idea what was going on. So he fixed the bill we just had to pay for the beers. This made the waitress upset. So we put cash down with the receipt. And I'll have you know this irresponsible child of a waitress kept my change.So I asked her where my change was. She just laughed and walked away so I again ask for a manager.So then she comes up to the table and puts all pennies and one nickle on the table in front of the manager. I said that's weird that theres no quarters and she said that she would have to go up to the safe that was upstairs. so the manager had a talk with her don't know what was said but so then she never walked upstairs to switch the change out but magically we were able to have quarters in our change again. Let the manager know that we're never coming back.He apologized he said that he would have a really long talk with erica and how he didn't understand why she was acting this way because she has been there for 3 years. I end up writing corporate corporate writes me back. Included in the photos you will see the message. Also when I posted the initial review Erica made a fake account on Yelp. That is also included in the photos. Also included in the photos is the receipts.

I love going to The Tap whenever I am in town. Came on Saturday for the big game and my server Lily was absolutely amazing. With it being so slammed in there, I still got excellent service and she was just such a doll! Between the service, food, drinks, and the big win I couldn’t have asked for a better night🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I love this place! I was introduced to The Tap shortly after moving to Bloomington in 2017. I quickly fell in love with the Thunder Chicken Tacos and the Tap Fries! It is always the first restaurant I recommend when people ask where they should eat.

The food is delicious. I ordered a turkey sandwich. Absolutely terrific. I asked for the turkey to be warmed up but they wouldn't do it according to the server. The cranberry sauce on it was terrific. My sister ordered the crispy chicken sandwich. She liked it and the fries were just as good. The atmosphere is upbeat and there are a lot of TV's. You have college kids, middle age people, Senior citizens. It's nice for everyone to feel included. The service wasn't as great. If you are going to a bar and you have a menu of cocktails - you should be pushing that. She seemed disinterested.

Week night dinner out, looking for a new place to eat... waste of time and money on over priced frozen hamburger style food. Plus all of the girls working there were more worried about conversating with each other tucked away off to the side than than customer service. It was a very slow night only about 5 tables of people. So no reason to not get good service. When the server has to be tracked down... won't be back.

Food and drinks are consistently nice. But you have to know that all your clothes will heavily stink when you go to the tap, you are basically sitting in their kitchen fumes, one can see the haze close to the lights
