I’ve been eating at this place weekly ever since June of 2025. The student employees and the chefs have been so incredibly kind to me. I come in and order milk all the time. At least I used to until they took it off the menu. Terrible look for the upper management for taking this item off the menu. Clearly rhe upper management who I will not name but I know do not care about me getting my milk. Thank you again to the student employees and chefs that enjoyed giving me my milk while I could get it. I love this place and will continue to visit for the rest of my undergrad career and possible life.

Great place, great service, tip in cold hard CASH though because the corporation that owns the restaurant garnishes the employees' credit card tips to pay their other employees.

I just had to write this review because it irritated me what the corporation who owns this place does.

With good food and AMAZING service, The Vault Pub did not disappoint during my multiple visits here. Each server provided me with the best care, and they even seemed to get along really well with each other. I have never felt more comfortable talking to servers as if they were old friends. However, my only gripe with the establishment is the treatment of the serving staff regarding their tips by corporate and upper management.

IU Dining and Hospitality, the corporation that oversees the food and services at the IMU has made the decision to pool the tips made at The Vault Pub with the other departments and their employees in the IMU.

While this may appear fair at first glance, apparently the tips generated at The Vault Pub far exceeds those accrued by these other department, which essentially means that the employees at The Vault Pub are effectively losing out on a big chunk of their paychecks for employees who from what I hear have most likely have never even set foot in the restaurant.

Not only that, these other departments seem to have at least triple the amount of employees than The Vault Pub, with dozens of them working every day already minimizing an already minimal tip share which makes it even worse for the servers.

As a patron, why should I write down anything in the tip slot if I know that my server may only receive a fraction of it. I want to give money to my server, or at the very least, the team here, not some people who I have never seen or don't work here. I asked the servers if the cash tips are pooled, and they aren't (Thank GOD). Since then, I have made sure to return with cash (you know, since no one carries cash with them in this day and age).

Overall, I love coming here. The food is good and I enjoy talking with the employees, but the treatment by their management breaks my heart. They need to do better.

The only reason to eat at The Vault is to sit on the outdoor patio. We had a large group of teens and adults, so were happy they could accommodate two big tables. The indoor ambience is lacking with bad lighting and a cafeteria vibe. The only two entrees in our group that were passable was the burger and the salad. The rest of the food was terrible (turkey Reuben, tenderloin sandwich, etc.). The Vault should improve its decor and food quality, as it's wonderful to have a restaurant at the IMU for hotel guests and visitors. Add pizzas to menu for large groups. Until then, opt for one of their great beers and a snack on the outdoor patio when the weather is nice.

Loved dining on the patio at the union for our college reunion homecoming weekend! Food was excellent bar fare! We very much enjoyed the charcuterie board and hummus apps and the fish and chips and tenderloin. They were a bit understaffed but we weren't in a rush and the server did her best! Will def return!!

We had the hot wings and pretzel as an app. They were both hit and delish. The wings were a bit charred but that added to the flavor. The burgers were cooked to perfection and the seasoned fries added to the combo. Our server was courteous, prompt and professional. They have a big screen tv as well as multiple other tv for easy sports viewing. We will definitely be back!

The fries were pretty good the burger was alright. However if you order grub hub or use meal exchanges the waiting staff refuses to let you sit in there or even wait in there on your order. They were extremely rude and shoed you away. The place was completely empty and the reasoning was if people come then they will have to move you, this doesn’t make sense as there was 15+ booths/tables open.

This is a fantastic place to dine in and enjoy company with others! The ambiance is great, and the servers are so nice! BUT, bring cash for a tip! The servers do not get the tips that you write down for them. It is held back and then split with the servers who work the most hours. This means that no matter how much you like your server, if they didn't work the most hours that cycle, they are not going to see that tip. Bring cash so they can get the tips you want them to have! Other than that, everything was great! As a server, I want to make sure that people are aware of this before attending. Some college students do not have the luxury of being at the mercy of the work schedule.

Was staying at the Biddle Hotel for a conference. The Vault was only a brief walk from the room. I ordered take out and gentleman that took the order was nice - he even gave me half price on the onion rings. The food was good; turkey ruben, fries, onion rings and chili. For the price and the location, certainly worth the stop.

Food was cold and the nachos were consistent to what you would find at a concession stand.

It is a little hard to find if this is your first time. Just find the bookstore in The Union and the elevator down to the restaurant is near there. The menu is fairly small, but plenty of choice and the food was good. A little disappointing, my husband ordered the tenderloin and at 5pm on a Friday night, they were out of it. Service was great though and our food came out super fast.

Delicious fresh food, and great service! Went there on Jazz night and it was such a great ambience. Will be back soon!
