Folks on the east side of Bloomington hopefully know how good they have it by having Trailhead Pizzeria nearby. Living on the west side of town, we've got some good places to choose from, but nothing like Trailhead. This pizza is a singular experience. For most of town, when you think of locally owned places, you think of Aver's, Pizza X, and Mother Bears. All great places. HOWEVER.... On the east side.. if you're willing to drive a bit, there is a little chunk of beauty known as Trailhead. Super casual. They seem to do a lot of pick up business. We were on the east side tonight, and I was trying to think of a place to eat that was unique to the east side. Trailhead! We got there around 6, and it was pretty quiet. The server was very nice and attentive. Our meal was simple, a pepperoni pie with a side of cheese bread. I do not have words for how good that cheese bread was. I don't know how or where they slip the garlic in, but they do it in a way that helps the flavors blend beautifully. Everything was hot and wonderfully cheesy in a proper pizza way. The pizza itself was cooked very well, with their amazing crust. I intentionally ordered more than I could eat just so I would have leftovers to look forward to. This place is an easy 5 stars. The interior of the place is nothing special, like I said, super casual. If you are anywhere near the area, check them out. They are just simply so good. Period. They once had a location downtown, which is how I discovered them in the first place. Hoping they try for a second location again sometime so more people can experience this amazing food.

The pizza wasn't bad but it was way overpriced for what it was. My wife ordered a drink on their menu, but they couldn't make it so she ordered a different drink. They really didn't know how to make that one either but they tried anyway.I came here years ago and it was much better. Save your money and go anywhere else.

Really hate to leave a bad review of a local business, but $17 for a 10” pizza is bordering on egregious pricing, it definitely falls into the “extreme” category, and is way past the “overpriced” category. Not to mention the posted price was only 14.95 on the menu. And I called in a carry-out order and still waited 10 minutes when I got there, definitely a bummer. This place has lots of potential, and the staff is definitely friendly and the pizza is very very good. But come on! You guys have the “hungry hiker” market cornered, do better! I’ll check in with you after 6 months.

The restaurant recently changed hands. The new operators have done a tremendous job cleaning the place up, however the staffing issues remain the same. inattentive and forgetful high school and college students. The food quality has also declined DRAMATICALLY. Trailhead used to be my favorite pizza, and it wasn't even close. The most glaring change has been the dough, which was once light and fluffy, but is now dry and sad. They also now cut pizza sticks into triangles, making them near-impossible to dip in the sauce. I live near Trailhead, but I would rather venture into town to Avers or Buccetos than eat here again.

Had dinner here last night, been looking for great pizza since moving here in Indiana. Well last night we did! Live in Shelbyville but will be making trips to have this pizza here regularly. Understand there are new owners and it showed after reading previous reviews. Pizza, cheese sticks and dessert were all really good and their house made ranch is great! Clean restaurant and great service. Can’t wait to come back! Sorry didn’t think about pictures until it was too late.

Another place in Indiana where their idea of pizza never left the HighSchool level. Chewy and tasteless.

Decent Pizza but terrible ownership. Took over 2 hours for delivery and we ordered right when they opened. Driver showed up without all the order and said she wasn’t going to do anything about it. Then she said she was the owner’s wife and her husband was too busy to answer the phone to process a credit. Then they ignored emails, calls, etc. Won’t order from them again. Such a shame.

Food is good when you can actually place an order. They do not answer phones EVER. Hours are inconsistent and change often. They have a huge banner out front that says open till 9. Not true.

We came in after 10 minutes we left. Never greeted, never looked at us as we stood at the counter. Three people working and they all looked overwhelmed. There was live music 2 guy’s playing guitar and singing. The singing was just ok. Maybe 3 tables total on a Friday should have told us something but we were hungry and it was close to our VRBO. Never again.

For the great atmosphere and people, as well as the higher price for pizza, we were super disappointed with the actual food. Barely any toppings, cheese, or sauce. It was similar to Jack's frozen pizza from the grocery store. We even added extra sauce and there was less than a normal amount. We were camping and excited for a big meal and were all left hungry. Will not be going back.

Awful! Ordered two pizzas, two orders of breadsticks with sauce. Took THREE HOURS to be delivered. When delivered, driver WALKED IN THE HOUSE without knocking or anything. Honestly, the worst experience and the food wasn't even that good and obviously cold, and they didn't bring the sauces for the breadsticks.

We cannot say enough great things about Trailhead Pizza! We had the Bonfire Pizza - top 3 pizzas we've ever eaten! Homemade dough was just icing on the cake! The people and service were fabulous - Sarah made us feel right at home. They offer draft beer and specialty cocktails, too! Not to mention, live music every Friday and Saturday. If you haven't already, you need to check this place out! We'll be back!!
