Did some reading on the Standard Ice Cream shop in Bourbon, IN. I took a drive to check it out and have lunch. It's a nice easy going ice cream / lunch dinner. The menu is simple and easy for them to manage. Service was fast and friendly. It is also an antique shop with with all sorts of interesting items. kids would get a kick out off looking at items and hearing what the item is, and used for. I will be going back again.

A fun place to shop for vintage and antiques! And I love their ice cream!
I always have a great experience when I come here, ice cream is great but the last time we went the man I presume to be the owner served us, he’s a nice guy, but before he served us he wiped and rubbed his wet nose in a random rag that was laying on the counter. I assumed he was going to wash his hands right after before serving our ice cream but he didnt. Jus put the rag down and asked us what we wanted. I was grossed out after that and haven’t been back since. I’m just a germ freak although he’s always nice I thought that was a little nasty and unprofessional BUT minus that experience the place is cool the ice cream is great and the girls that work there are always fantastic.
If you find yourself in Bourbon, IN The Standard is a place to check out. They have the best ice cream in town, lots of antiques, food, and a friendly staff. So if you are wondering on thru or just down the road The Standard is the place people gather to enjoy each others company.
