We dined at 101 Craft Kitchen in Carmel with a group, including two kids, and it was a decent experience, though not without flaws. The place was packed, which gave it a lively but sometimes chaotic feel. The drink menu was solid—I enjoyed a Mexican beer, which was refreshing and a good pick.
We shared some appetizers, and the loaded tater tots were the best of the bunch—tasty and satisfying. For my main, I asked about the walleye and was told it was fresh that day (they mentioned it’s not always fresh, so ask first). Paired with a melon and feta salad, it was good and probably the highlight of the meal.
The kids’ cheeseburgers, priced at $8, were okay for the value. One was cooked nicely, but the other was overcooked and dry, which was disappointing. The waitress only asked one kid how they wanted it done (medium is standard), and it felt like a miss not to check with both. Service was fine but nothing special, especially given how busy it was.
Overall, the food and atmosphere were alright, and we might go back, but it wasn’t a standout experience. Check for fresh walleye and maybe double-check the kids’ orders.

My family and I were visiting from out of town. We arrived here for dinner, upon arrival, we were told it was “open” seating and that outside was the only location available. While being taken to the outside area I noticed two tables open for 4. We got seated outside by the hostess, whom did not fill our water glasses, mind you it was 90 degrees. Another family got seated after us and immediately got water and was asked if they wanted an appitizer. My family and I waited 15 minutes and still did not have water, nor service. At this point I got up and went to the hostess, I asked her if we were going to get service outside, at which point she became rude and I asked for a manager. The manager approached and I took him to the open seats inside at which point he said they were reserved. Now again, we originally were told it was open seating. So which is it, do you need reservations or is it open seating. Either way, the empty tables should be marked “reserved” to avoid the negative perception. When we finally got service, the food was mediocre at best for the price and crappy service we received. At the end of the day the manager could have comped our first round of drinks, yet that did not happen either. We watched two more families get up and leave from the outside area while we were there, due to the poor service level and lack of drinks on a hot day. I would recommend not going here, as when we did leave there are many more options around, and we all said we just should have gone to Piada,
Update: I appreciate the reply to my initial review, however the manager DID NOT discount anything. That was my point! Don’t worry, we will never be back to this establishment, it is obvious you operate as a “we don’t do anything wrong mentality”!

This has become our favorite place- it checks off all the boxes every time. Great food, great staff and great drinks. Favorite dishes are hot honey chicken sandwich, fried green tomatoes, wings and ricotta dip.

First time in for brunch today. Out of scotch eggs so ordered wings. 7 tiny wings for $16. Sauce was eh….
Breakfast burrito came cold inside. I asked the server if they made the eggs for each burrito to order. She said yes. I asked her to feel the brick of an egg that was in mine as it was ice cold as in out of a refrigerator. She did and walked away. Seemed to be indifferent about it. Manager came over and he too felt the ice cold egg and asked if we wanted anything else. Confirmed eggs are nut made to order but “made fresh daily”. We said no thank you, paid the bill and left. There is plenty of good bar food in the Carmel area. This was definitely not it. It’s a shame because the space is actually quite nice. Will not return.

This place feels like a little slice of Italy. I ordered the carbonara and it was creamy, cheesy, and had just the right amount of pepper. The pasta was cooked al dente and the portion was generous. Pair it with a glass of house red — perfect combo.

I was greeted when I came in. I was a few minutes away from missing out on happy hour but you can only order off the menu at the bar which was full. I ended up sitting outside. I was in the mood for fried green tomatoes. I've been here before but couldn't remember if I liked them or not. While waiting on my food, my prior review popped up and I didnt like them then. I gave it another shot, and didnt like it this time around either. No flavor at all. The fries on the other hand were decent. The mocktail was okay.

Small group. Think this is our third or fourth visit. Group opinions evenly split betw. favorable and not. Not enthusiastic about new menu. Preparation somewhat lacking. Noise level a little high, as are prices. Will go back but not soon.
