WOW! Enticing atmosphere, warm, cozy, vibrant, WIFI worked well but this has sadly been a small space for the busy weekends I've visited. Java House is a false name! Customers keep expecting espresso type beverages, wanting a double, cappucino, wish they'd sorted out a smarter name ensuring there's minimal chance for confusion but everything is cold brew! It's a curious craft adding massive amounts of sugar syrup to most drinks. The cinnamon and honey latte is the only signature drink I can handle, very tasty hot, surprisingly easy to drink especially in this winter weather wasteland. The prices are also oddly diabetic. Can't figure out who brings their six, seven, even eight bucks here instead of a top notch single origin properly roasted espresso as Tinker, Blue Mind, Bovaconti, and many others do well. Playing the mobile app's discounts work alright, hope Java House can migrate towards crafted ingredients and flavors that pair with their attempts to make cold brew something special and worthy of double McDonalds prices.

I definitely had to write a review about Nicole. I’ve been to this location three times as I’m typically closer to other locations. Once in December of 2024, once in the summer of 2025 and once last month. In December of 2024, I went in during a work Christmas party where my coworkers and I shop. Nicole was so friendly and asked about my holidays and the work event. The following summer, I went in and Nicole was there. I went with my husband and our 3 week old baby. She remembered me FROM DECEMBER (it was August at this point) and asked how I was doing. I was honestly mind blown by the customer service. We got into a conversation about the show Survivor. My husband and I enjoyed our little coffee date & while we were there, we saw her provide amazing customer service to everyone who came in. Then last month when I went, she was working and asked me if I was watching the current season of Survivor. Again, her memory and kindness blew me away! Each time I go, I hope she is working! Everyone else working was friendly as well and drinks were amazing as usual but Nicole’s customer service really stood out to me. I hope her manager sees this and gives her the highest praise! Great location!!

I just can’t get behind the cold brew coffee served hot. It just tastes weird. I sincerely have a high tolerance for coffee quality; I make my own French Press but will gladly drink gas station coffee, Folgers, Dunkin etc. I want to support local small business. I sincerely want nothing more than for them to stop serving cold brew hot, and just make hot drinks the standard way so I can have a good cup of coffee in Clay Terrace or the Carmel Library.

Okay ambiance but quite possibly the worst cup of coffee I’ve ever had. Really unsure how to mess up coffee this much. It’s two ingredients, one being water.

Coffee is mid, baristas are RUDE. My friend has an ethnic name and when asked for it for her order was promptly laughed at by baristas. One of them commented to the other about how weird her name was. Not surprising for Carmel unfortunately but damn. Do not patronize this place

I was driving home from a road trip through Indiana and needed to stop for coffee. Whenever possible I support independent coffee shops and found Java House in Clay Terrace, just a couple few miles off my track. I stopped in for a black coffee to go.
I would rate my Java House coffee as below the quality of gas station coffee. At $4.15 I expected at the very least, a decent cup of coffee. But this was undrinkable to the point of being gross. I would have gotten a far better cup had I stopped at Speedway.
What rip off! If they are willing to cheat you on something as basic as black coffee, I assume that the rest of their offerings are made with the absolute cheapest, institutional ingredients on the market. No way will I return.

I love their coffee house at Clay Terrace! It is spacious, the staff is fast and polite and the atmosphere it always fun. I do business and social meetings here. They have plenty of space to host larger meetings too.

Only been to this location twice. First time I ordered a matcha lemonade with raspberry flavoring. Was delicious and service was great. But today I went and ordered a green mama drink and when I was driving home and tasting it I thought it was only milk. Well I got home and poured it out into a clear cup and what do ya know , I paid $6.54 for steamed milk. I am very disappointed I spent my money here

I am a huge fan of Java House, and am at one of their locations weekly if not daily. The coffee is great and I appreciate the local ownership. The managers and some of the employees at the Clay Terrace location, though, are routinely rude. It's often difficult to find a space, and I've been yelled at for sneaking back by the exit to take a quick calls a couple of times because it's so loud. Some of the workers are pretty cold. The West Elm street location is way friendlier and better vibe.

Was disappointed to find my bacon and egg sandwich to be very minimally filled. Small egg round, very little onion and limited bacon. That sandwich and coffee were not worth $12+.

Moldy coffee. Nothing is brewed fresh. The coffee and teas are brewed elsewhere and reheated at the location. This model is ripe for molded and bad coffee. Not fresh.

Legitimately the only coffee that I have paid for, and then thrown straight in the garbage. Disgusting.
