We came on a snow day and the small staff made sure our large party got everything we needed and the food was all really good. Happy hour all day Monday and certain hours other days is a great deal.
Curt did a great job as our server. I had the stir fry. It was good, but it seemed a little over done in that the vegetables were a bit overcooked. My husband had the macadamia crusted chicken and everything about his plate was delicious. We enjoy Kona Grill and will go back.
Overall, our experience wasn't the best. First, I think it is way over priced for the quality of the food. They are out of things on the menu we wanted to order so we had to pick something else that we didn't even end up liking. Shrimp stir fry was like $36 and the quality was so basic. The overall vibe was just not great either. Should have read the reviews prior to going. Seems like there has been quality issues with this restaurant for some time now.
I've been waiting since Mother's Day to write this review. We had a zero star experience then (IYKYK), wrote to Kona about it, they called me the next day and sent me a gift card to make up for it. It's not close to our home (45 min) so we didn't have a chance to go back until today. Today was a 9/10 experience. I had low expectations, but to be fair everything was very good. Four of us had meals including 3 sushi rolls, lobster Mac n cheese, jambalaya (on a seasonal menu), French dip sandwich, filet, Brussel sprouts, angry edamame, and a watermelon margarita. Sushi rolls, edamame were 10/10. Lobster Mac 9/10. Filet 8/10 (good but not the best ever). French dip 8/10 and could have had more meat with less fat. And a couple pieces had that inedible fat. Horseradish and au jus were very good. Jambalaya was 9/10 and could have more than 1 piece of shrimp. But was very good. Margarita was 9/10. Brussel sprouts were 7/10. Texture mushy but flavor was good. Waitress was attentive, timely, and good recommendations with a great attitude. Bill was about $240 excluding tip. A little high for the volume of food but we still had some leftovers and all tasted very good. Overall was a 9/10.
Excelente servicio, la mesera fue muy amable y nos habló de cada platillo dándonos recomendaciones deliciosas, la comida está excelente y los precios son muy buenos, definitivamente un lugar q se a convertido en uno de mis favoritos.
Came in today during Happy Hour for some apps and to watch the IU/Alabama game. Cheap apps and always good food. Helpful, friendly staff.
The tuna appetizer was excellent. The salmon special was very good. We ordered two desserts that were not worth the $16 a piece. Serving size was extremely small. Service was good.
Food was delicious! Service was wonderful! Great dining experience. Fun New Year's Eve dinner.
Had a great dining experience tonight! Our waitress, Ava, was very helpful in helping us decide what to order. $8 kids bento box was a fantastic value and my lemon garlic penne with shrimp was delicious!
Staffing was extremely inadequate. We waited an hour and ten minutes minutes for a drink. Tried to order directly from the bar and was informed I had to order from our table. Should have ordered two at once as dinner came and went (40 minutes) before we got our second drink served. The entire back half of the restaurant was setup but empty presumably a result of poor scheduling/staffing. The one bartender commented this was common.

We and many others had reservations and were expecting a nice night out and a good dinner. Upon arrival the line just to check in even after the opentable app said our table was ready was 10-15 minutes. Then the manager or hostess not really sure was flustered and overwhelmed announced that even if we did get seated it would be a minimum of 1:30 before we would get any food. Now I appreciate the honesty but really you took all these reservations and you can not begin to serve any of us. My wife and I had planned a nice night out and got nothing but a frustrating evening and no dinner. I don't know about others but I will not ever be going back here in the near future of maybe ever. If you have staffing issues don't over book and then disappoint everyone.
They offered a generous gift to veterans and graciously gave it. The drinks and entrees chosen were expertly prepared. Meal was hot. We love Kona Grill for their consistency. Will continue to go there. Thanks for honoring our veterans.
Waiter was overwhelmed and forgetful but nice. Food was not fresh, particularly seaweed in Miso Soup, Rice in some sushi. My wife's chicken was missing the honey mustard that was supposed to come on the sandwich. This used to be a high end restaurant with fresh food but food quality and service has gone down hill.
Great service by Kayla! Food was very tasty, and thanks for accommodating our large group at night!
