We got catering for a group of 20. Easy to set up. Food was a hit. Beans were slightly harder than we liked but the meats were delicious. Had so much food to feed everyone, send home with people and made multiple meals afterwards like breakfast burritos to freeze.

Shocked I hadn't already reviewed this place. We've been to Sun King Carmel 3 times and have ordered food from here 3 times.
Going in without a plan can be tough because the place gets crowded and loud pretty quickly. Beyond the challenge of trying to get a table when they're busy, the line at La Margarita can get long and seem intimidating as it might take a bit to get through. If there's more than 1 in your party, I recommend one person get in line to order and the other scout about to claim a table as they get taken quickly.
In spite of how long it might take to place the order, it's been quick from order to the actual receipt of food each time. I can't speak to much of the menu because we have done the veggie nachos each time. It's a cookie sheet full of chips layered with a generous assortment of toppings. It has been plenty quantity-wise for both my wife and me each time. Highly recommend.

Service was horrible. The guy who is at the register taking the orders was rude. After I ordered my food I asked him for 2 cups for water and he said no in a rude manner and he had the cups next too him. Never giving my business to la margarita in Carmel again.

The 3 stars are only for the food and price. These people are so rude it’s disgusting. I only continue to patronize this business due to it being delicious, affordable, and in a great location. The workers here treat you like you’re trash. Don’t greet you, and you dare not ask any questions. Just walk up, order, pay and get out of their face. I am a big tipper everywhere I go, but I don’t even bother tipping these jerks. They obviously couldn’t care less about making extra money so I don’t either. It pisses me off every single time.
Get the ensalada la Marg and the nachos chorizo. Best salad and nachos in Carmel. Ya welcome

This a great spot. The food is pretty good, the atmosphere pretty good… but the real show stopper is the chipotle sauce!!! We live in TN and we stop here every time we’re in town and take home as much sauce as we can.

I came in on Saturday night (8‐10-24). I ordered the Birria nachos, I took a couple of bites and found a nice surprise, a hair. I took them to the guy who made them, and he blamed the hair being in my drink. Which comes from Sun King. He was hesitant to make remake my food, which I was okay with him remaking the order. He gave me a about half the order we originally got with the hair in it. He was very rude about it. I even spoke to him in spanish to make sure there wasn't any confusion. I just threw them away. Terrible service, I didn't get a proper chance to actually enjoy and review the food. Waste of $20 dollars, I tipped the guy as well.
