My wife and I came here for our anniversary and we experienced wonderful service, delicious food, and an elegant atmosphere. We had the crab cakes, a special appetizer of crispy tuna rice, the pistachio scallops, the miso sea bass, the snickers pie, an espresso martini, and a cardamom sour. Every single bite was delicious. Our server was very kind, conversational, and made us feel welcome. I highly highly recommend Monterey.

We have dined at Monterey many times to celebrate family birthdays. This was not the best visit in terms of the food. 2 meals with mashed potatoes; both had chunks of potato in the mash? It was rather dry and not creamy and there was virtually no sauce on my pecan crusted halibut. The fish and chips , sushi and burger were all good. Mahi mahi and pecan crusted halibut not great. I did not complain on the night. Our server was outstanding and we were celebrating a birthday. Didn't want to ruin the moment but was a little disappointed afterwards.

First time here. Food was excellent. I had the miso sea bass, and my husband had the pecan crusted scallops/risotto. The bread was excellent, but you have to ask for it. It is noisy, but seems like the case everywhere. Will definitely return in future.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in the Carmel area. It is always delicious! We always try something new and this time we tried the Aurora sushi roll as an appetizer and it was fantastic! Very fresh with fresh lime. We also had the Pecan crusted halibut, the Ahi Tuna, the scallops and the tuna poke bowl. Everyone enjoyed their meals immensely. The food is always served hot and it is fresh and tasty. Our server, Kayla, was terrific! She made really solid recommendations and she was friendly and very attentive. We will return!

Best meal we have had in Carmel!!!! Our waiter was very attentive and came by often to make sure we were good. We will take out of town guests here. The only down side was we requested a quiet booth and were seated by the bar. It was REALLY loud.
