MOTW Coffee and Pastries

Stopped by the Carmel location today for the first time. We have a dairy allergy and the barista told us the drink we ordered was dairy free. Then we found out it wasn’t, so we ordered another drink. Then we waited for 20 mins for our drinks as we watched several, younger couples walk in, order, and get the drinks while we waited. I thought they missed our drinks so I politely asked if they were still working on them and they got very defensive when I asked why others received their drinks first. Lastly, we realized that we were overcharged for one of our drinks. I want to like this place but this situation made it really difficult for us to want to come back.

Best place to sit in town and enjoy coffee and pastries. Beautiful ambience and friendly staff. Love going here!!

Drinks are amazing! You have to try Yamani tea and Biscoff latte; OMG, so good!

Updated: one of the staff reached out to investigate the issue and offered a $20 gift card, after I emailed the staff back I was ghosted by the person and never received the gift card. Again very poor service on their end and I definitely should not have to keep checking in to receive a gift card.

I’ve been a frequent visitor of MOTW, my husband and I love their Yemeni Chai however after recent events we are reconsidering. Recently every time we have gone the wait times are simply absurd, waiting over 20 minutes for one coffee is way too much especially when there is no other costumers. The service has downhill quite a lot, we are not greeted at the door, and we have found that the staff is more with entertaining their friends rather than focusing on making costumer orders.

My new go to spot! Tarik the owner was very personable and made sure he was the one who delivered our drinks. He genuinely made us feel welcome which I appreciated because that isn’t common at big coffee chains. The drinks were unreal and the pistachio pastry was top notch as well! They definitely know what they’re doing here

Empanadas are so delicious!! We tried all available options and they were all super delicious and you can easily see they use high quality ingredients! ( but pricy so beware)

I really wanted to taste the coffee but couldn’t !!
The person in the cashier won’t give me my simple fast order of drip coffee because there was 3 or 4 other cups before me , I told her I needed to go but she won’t allow it stating that all these specialty drinks have to go first, which is very time consuming.
It literally took way more time arguing and refunding my card than if she just actually filled the cup !!
Some poor management , I understand there was some orders ahead , but these fast requests should be granted to respect peoples time . In fact , drip coffee should be self serve .
