Great food, great service plus birthday surprises! Roma is one of my favorite restaurants!
We had a great experience at Roma! Beth our server was great. She did excellent balancing checking in with us but not being "pushy" or "overly present", she knew the menu and pairing quiet well! The food was delicious, from apps to salad to entrée to cocktails! The Genovese di Mare and the special lobster ravioli in a limoncello cream sauce were dynamite, my wife's espresso martini and my Manhattan were well crafted. The esthetic is classic yet refined ambiance. Bill the manager was superb, engaging and welcoming. We have been using open table for reservations for several years and every time in the alleviating request section I enter "beautiful flowers". Bill has been the only one see that ahead of time and went out of his way to help make our evening that much more spectacular. Thank you, kind sir!
Our server rushed us from start to finish. She grabbed my plate while my friend was still eating and then proceeded to try and grab hers while she was still eating. Then brought takeout containers and started putting her food in takeout containers while she was still eating. The Caesar salad had absolutely no taste and virtually no dressing on it either. I mentioned our server problem to the guy at the check-in station and he seems shocked, but it was a bad experience for the minute. We sat down till we left. I left her about a 15% tip and she didn't deserve that.
Me and my family visited Roma Ristorante last night for the first time to celebrate my mom's 69th birthday, and let me tell you—we were blown away. From the moment we sat down, the service was excellent. Our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and never once made us feel uncomfortable for not speaking Italian. In fact, she made the entire experience feel warm and welcoming. We were so impressed with the menu that we decided to order a little bit of everything. For appetizers, we had the calamari, meatballs, pizza bread (I have to look up the exact name!), and the Brussels sprouts. Every appetizer was excellent—flavorful without being too heavy. I also loved how the bread was sliced into small pieces so you can enjoy it without filling up before the main course. Perfect for people like us who "saved up" all day for this meal! For our entrées, I ordered the pollo chicken and it was outstanding. I especially appreciated that they didn't overload the plate with mashed potatoes—just the right amount, maybe a quarter to a half cup—and the roasted vegetables were cooked to perfection. My mom ordered the veal and loved it so much she saved the rest for lunch today. My dad had a gnocchi dish, my friend ordered a shrimp linguine, and my son got the spaghetti. The only downside: there is no kids menu, and the portion size for the kids' spaghetti was pretty small. My son is 6 and he was still hungry afterward. But the staff made up for it—they gave my mom a complimentary birthday dessert, and Chef Sophia herself came out to talk with us for a good 5–10 minutes. She shared her training background in Italy, which you can absolutely taste in the food. She even gave my son some ice cream, which made his night. Overall, I would absolutely go again. My parents raved about the food all night. The ambiance was beautiful, they seated us at a great table, and every single thing—from décor to service to flavor—was spot on. Roma Ristorante gets a full 5 out of 5!
Wonderful experience. The food was excellent, and the service was very attentive. Restaurant is kinda loud, but has great atmosphere. We will definitely visit again when we are in Carmel.
Yet another exceptional dining experience at Roma, the best Italian restaurant in the Indy metro area. Our server, Landon, was attentive, knowledgeable, and simply delightful. Our entrees were superb—creative and delicious. We also appreciated the manager's kindness in allowing us to wait for another table that would better accommodate an elderly and disabled member of our party. Once again, our compliments to Chef Rafaelle and his staff for an excellent meal!
Compared to the original Roma, this iteration is sadly lacking. It's loud thanks to bad behavior on the part of some customers, one of whom was seated next to my guest and me. Our waiter was, however, very attentive despite being very busy. His recommedations were spot on -- from the entreés to the really fine desserts. I'm not sure I'll go back however. I miss the old Roma where the chef would leave the kitchen and come out to stop by your table and chat. There, the ambiance was much more subdued and it was always quiet. My first meal at the old Roma was especially memorable. I said to my companion that it was the best Italian food I'd ever eaten outside Locanda del Lupe in Soragna, Italy. Other well travelled friends agreed with me. But alas, it closed and has now been reopened but without the charm of the original.
Incredible experience from the host to the service to the made-to-order Italian food. So good. We will be back.
We decided to come to Roma for my husband's birthday and had an incredible experience. The food was absolutely amazing, every dish was full of authentic Italian flavor. The chef came to our table to explain the dishes and introduce herself, which made the experience even more special and personal. Her sister, Julieta, who was our waitress, was also wonderful. Very attentive, warm and made us feel right at home. You can truly feel the passion and love they put into every detail. A genuine Italian experience from start to finish!
Super hospitable and warm welcome. Outstanding service. The pasta dishes are, not surprisingly, they're strong suit. Brussels sprouts appetizer also delicious.

Roma never disappoints. We are from Ohio and every time we are in town, about twice a year, we come here without fail. The food is excellent. We have tried quite a few things on the menu and have never been disappointed. The staff is top notch, from the moment you are greeted at the front to every server we have ever had, to everyone saying good bye when you leave. The restaurant is clean and beautifully kept. I can't recommend Roma enough. We will see you when we are back in the spring!
The host was very welcoming and the atmosphere was rustic Italian. Our server Cheyenne was informative, patient and exceptional with her service. Their pastas are made fresh and you can taste the difference. I haven't had Italian that good since I was in Florence Italy. The pappardelle was excellent along with a Brussel sprouts app and bottle of Sardinian wine. So good, brought two more back with us the following night. Is now forever on my list anytime I visit the Indy area.
Very good food, and reasonable prices

Service was excellent. However, our food was subpar despite a beautiful menu. Salads were watery, sauces lacked flavor, and the tiramisu tasted like the freezer it was sitting in. Just bad food and a $100 bill.

The food was amazing. The pasta was fresh. The portions were smaller than I expected, but still adequate. The cream sauce was delicious and the ingredients and textures in the dish all worked together beautifully.
