Definitely my go to spot in Carmel, and Connor behind the bar is my go to guy. That guy has a deep knowledge of beer and always has the perfect suggestion for what to try. With how deep the menu is on their rotating taps, it’s nice to be able to talk with someone who can ask about your tastes and immediately know what to give you. It definitely turns each trip to Sun King an experience, and you don’t get that just anywhere. Couldn’t recommend Sun King or Connor any more.

I recently visited Sun King Brewery with a group of friends and had a really good experience overall. The space is large with plenty of seating, so it’s a great spot for groups. Everything was very clean, and the atmosphere was lively but still comfortable enough to enjoy conversations.
The service was excellent — friendly, attentive, and quick. Prices are reasonable, especially for a place that offers such a fun social environment.
The food was just okay — not bad, but not the main highlight. That said, if you’re heading out to socialize with friends, grab some drinks, and enjoy a relaxed night out, I would definitely recommend Sun King Brewery. It’s a great gathering spot with a welcoming vibe.
Would I come back? Yes — especially for the atmosphere and service!

I have to give a huge shoutout to the server at La Margarita! I messed up my order & he kindly made me another bowl! So yum! 10/10
We visited Sun King Carmel based on friends’ recommendations, but unfortunately it was a real disappointment. Some of the items we ordered were prepared incorrectly, and the staff member taking our food order seemed quite uninterested. The chicken tacos were especially tasteless, and the cheeseburger we ordered from the kids’ menu for our child was served cold.
On the positive side, the nachos and the beer selection were excellent. It’s a nice place to enjoy a beer outside on a summer day, but I don’t think we’ll come back for indoor dining or food again.
