The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers, Carmel City Center

What a wonderful girls day we had at the Cake Bake shop. Highly recommend going during the holidays, the decorations are absolutely stunning. Food and service was wonderful, cannot wait to go back.

Horrible experience. Staff is pretentious, food cold due to slow staff and underwhelming experience. Not good.

The food is very very good and the service is outstanding. However the....Cake slices keep getting smaller and smaller it seems every time I visit. And and most dishes have arugula salad as a side dish and you can't switch it out for fries without an up charge. However, if you look at the sides, the price of the salad and the fries are the same. Make it make sense.

First time eating dinner there. The food was delicious, but the cake and pies were even better.

The ambience the service the food is always a wonderful experience there. We drove two hours just to have brunch. Highly suggest this experience for the Young and the old.!!

Our experience was absolutely magical -everything we had hoped for and then some. World class service, beautiful decoration and plenty of opportunity for photo ops, and each dish was better than the next. This is not, as some reviewers have insisted, a place focused solely on aesthetic, I disagree. Cake Bake Shop was clearly designed to be an elevated experience destination for celebrations and if you go knowing this, you will enjoy. We had the Baked Fontina cheese served piping hot, baked with garlic, olive oil, rosemary, and thyme and served with sliced, toasted and seasoned french baguette. So good I wish we had ordered 2 of them. I also tried the chicken velvet soup, and it was delicious- though I think it tastes more like a French onion soup than chicken soup. Dishes come garnished with doilies and fresh flowers! Lastly I was undecided on whether to get cake.. I had read reviews and kept wavering over whether to chance it, and I am SO glad I listened to our server who insisted I had to try! I ordered the Red Velvet cake- an absolutely huge portion of cake for $16, it came studded with chocolate chips in between moist layers of red velvet, cream cheese frosting and piped pink rose icing topped with glitter. The addition of chocolate chips took this cake over the top! We loved that our server took the time to have us make a wish and provided extra glitter for our occasion! Thank you to our absolutely delightful server who also lead us around the restaurant to take photos - I noticed she recognized what was important for *each table* (emphasis on photos/good conversation etc.) and each guest was accommodated- the mark of someone who has mastered what it means to provide truly great customer service.. Any expectations were far exceeded. Parking was relatively easy to find and free! Both inside and outside decor are meticulously elegant and Instagram worthy, and located close to the Christkindmarkt. I can't wait to tell friends- we will be back!

The food was absolutely amazing, the details of the restaurant are gorgeous, and our waiter Nate was so sweet!

The lady's up front where very friendly. Our waiter was ok. The food was good. Our cake we had seemed very dry. Like it was a few days old!

We sat in the covered patio with a wonderful view of the city. The food was delicious and the cake was heavenly. We were celebrating the birthday of a friend. We had a special card welcoming her for her birthday and the waitress made our lunch very special.

So beautiful and magical. This is our first time to visit for brunch and it did not disappoint. Everything was delicious. Of course you can't come here without eating cake.

We arrived and the patio was very loud with just one other table- i have hearing trouble and the kindly moved us inside yo a quieter area. I had a timid teen with food aversions and an adult with celiac disease and they were absolutely wonderful taking care of our needs. It was the perfect girls night/day out and birthday celebration.

Great place to enjoy lunch or dinner. Tasty adult fall beverages. Truffle fries were amazing. Staff were pleasant, friendly, and happy.

Celebrated my daughter's 13th birthday. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was a magical experience!

We had a table in the sunroom/patio area and it was perfect. The windows were open and there was a nice breeze which made for a very comfortable seating area. Our server was very friendly and attentive. She answered all of our questions and gave recommendations when asked. We had the baked fontina as an appetizer and it was so delicious! We all had the chicken velvet soup which was creamy and flavorful. We selected the broccoli quiche, chicken Picatti and the Croque-Monsier. All were perfectly done and plentiful. We had leftovers to take home even though we did also get take home desserts as well. Just a perfect dinner with friends. Will definitely be back again.

We always love the whimsical ambiance. Food and service were very good--with the cake being the outstanding finale. Lavender lemonade was also excellent.
