A local staple with good ice cream and a great view

Brought my granddaughters here to have ice cream after a day at the park. Very pleasant scenery and the ice cream was great. I was surprised how reasonably priced it was. I bought ice cream and drinks for all four of us and didn’t spend $30. Recommend this place for sure

Really great place for desserts. They have a lot of options to choose from. Only thing I don’t like too much is that there are no public restrooms which could be a problem for parents if their kids need to go use it.

Large portions, reasonable pricing, 5 star view of the river. What's not to love?

I had a terrible experience at this establishment. We were just looking at the menu and were told to not sit in the sitting area and my nephew was told to get off the furniture. Very rude and inviting. We chose to leave and go to Sellersburg Popaleta…great service and very good ice cream!

If you desire rude and not customer friendly you should go here. Our group decided to support a different ice cream shop. The owner made sure we knew we couldn’t sit at the tables. We were walking up to place an order. There were plenty of of signage noting a very unfriendly atmosphere. Go to Sellersburg Popaletta you won’t be disappointed. Yummy ice cream and super friendly.

I highly don’t recommend that you go here. The place is covered with. Do not enter after hours. Keep a hold of your children no children here without supervision. Just a lot of nasty signs. It’s open air seating and an outdoor building. I didn’t see the do not enter signs. I came at 1:30 and there were cars parked in front of the sign so I didn’t see the no trespassing even though it’s a business and a storefront when I walked up to read the menu the lady came out and said can’t you read the signs? It was very rude and I was only trying to give them my business. I can’t see any reason to snap at someone who is a potential customer for just walking into their open air seating area before they open.

My wife and I stopped by The Widow’s Walk Ice Creamery and it was exactly what you want out of a place like this. Nothing fancy, just good old fashioned ice cream in cups or cones, with a solid variety of flavors, plus the basics like sundaes and malts.

Honestly though, the setting is what makes it stand out. It’s right off the riverwalk, and you get great views of Louisville across the river. There’s also a really cool Victorian home next door that adds to the whole atmosphere.

Simple spot, done well. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re walking the riverfront and want a sweet treat with some amazing views.

Most disappointing scoop of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough I've ever had. My family ordered other flavors which seemed to satisfy their unrefined palettes. My wife had a scoop of the chocolate peanut butter where the peanut butter was abundant in globs.

However, reader, without hyperbole I can honestly say my scoop of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough had roughly 7 pieces of cookie dough. If legal tender is being exchanged for cookie dough ice cream, it stands to reason that there is enough cookie dough to bake a full batch of chocolate chip cookies!

What a fun spot along the river! Everything was clean, and the ice cream was delightful! We liked that they used real fruit in their shakes and enjoyed walking across the street and enjoying our ice cream with a gorgeous view.

This place is very tasty. They sell canned big reds for $1.25 but do not offer ice. The owner is always a big ball of sunshine. She’s so friendly. You better hurry up and get some ice cream before for it melts.

This ice cream shop was featured in a movie.

We really wanted to try this place, even had a large group of 25 or so people with us. Unfortunately, they won't even try to accommodate food allergies. They have signs posted saying as much, and to not even ask. I have a son with a severe egg allergy, so we couldn't even try here due to their unwillingness to post allergens or attempt to accommodate allergies. I understand businesses may not want the liability, but keeping patrons safe and offering ingredients should be simple enough, without having to assume the liability of cross contamination or accidents. Bummer, wish they were more accommodating.

I go every year, pleasant scenery and pretty good ice cream.

Nothing special. Ice cream is not even made in house. I got the cookie dough, and it was literally vanilla with a few pieces in it. It mostly tasted like chemicals. Only good thing was the view of the city
