Every Sunday that I go there they have been closed for private events
I have followed this place on Facebook and I'm thoroughly disappointed. Spirit crushed at these results due to the lack of preparation. After waiting an hour for my food I'm told to give it another 30 minutes. Then after asking for a refund they tried rushing a plate together instead stating I'd be impressed by the taste and also given a complimentary dessert. Now after 2 hours of waiting I find this food to be undeniably disappointing. After spending 25 dollars for salty hard to chew pot roast rubbery Mac and cheese they put too much sugar in the sweet potato or candied yams. I even found one scoop of peach cobbler that tasted preheated and this would be the complimentary dessert. This has served as a waste of money a waste of gas and more importantly a huge waist of 2 hours I will never get back. Sad that I have to unfollow on Facebook and share this hopefully saving others from the same disappointment.

This was by far the most HORRIBLE Soul Food I’ve ever tasted. The macaroni had no cheese it was more like loose noodles. The green beans were salty. The only thing was good was the catfish.
We went today. They are only open on Sunday at this time. The food was really good. The Catfish was da bomb. No hot sauce needed. Three green beans and yams were really good too. I will be back.

My son had a birthday event here. The customer service was horrible. The event started at 8pm. His guests had to wait 2 hours to eat. The food was ok. Overall terrible customer service!

A friend had a bday brunch and the food was top tier. Now the event started at noon but food wasn't ready til 2pm. It absolutely may have been planned that way though and I just didnt know.Everything was delish but my fav was the fresh fruit, grits, chicken wings and fried green tomatoes... absolute Chef's kiss. There was an open bar. The bartender had excellent customer service but it too had a rocky start. The space is cozy and well decorated with clean bathrooms. Even with the DJ, the sound is crisp and clear. If I lived in the area, I'd eat here as often as possible.

I've been to Midwest Eats twice and both times I was extremely satisfied. I am really big on service more than anything and I was given outstanding service both times. They greet you with smiles and are very attentive. I had the Cajun Catfish and OMG. So good! The ambiance is the cherry on top. Definitely will be back.
