So I work pretty close to this place and generally enjoy Chinese food. First time I went was pretty sub par. The rice seemed old and the food overall had a taste that wasn't screaming fresh. Today I tried a lunch special and was sorely disappointed. The general tso didn't taste bad but it didn't look or taste fresh. The waiting room is now a daycare/study area for their children. Staff are nonchalant to rude in greeting patrons. Quality of the food is average if not less. I realize that this is a family business, but I rarely see many people here.
Love the egg rolls. My typical to go dinner order is 3 egg rolls with red sauce. These are amazing and freshly made. China Star has been in business for years. Other items that I order are chicken fried rice, Mongolian beef or broccoli and beef.
Food is made quick and served hot. Even with the recent increase in prices, my orders are usually under $8.
