“Awesome place for ice cream! I've been to there Granger location and am excited to have them in Elkhart as well. Toasted coconut with hot fudge is my favorite. It's fantastic. Another plus is they always have a good dairy free option. I've never had there desert tacos but I hear they are good.”

“Lordy Jesus their boba tea is phenomenal!! I had the passionfruit boba with passionfruit and mango flavor. This was a new food experience unlocked. Creamy, flavorful, and just sweet enough. Tried the bomb bomb shrimp (jumbo boys) and fried dumplings. My husband loves the boba tea so much, he ordered one for the visit and one for the drive. Will update with food posts!”

“Did not realize that they are now a food truck and no longer across the street from the post office. It was a nice day, so I decided to take advantage of the tables in the park, but was sadly swarmed by bees almost immediately and had to leave. Hot dogs were great, but was hoping for fries, not chips.”

“What a delightful surprise it was to find Steelyard Coffee Co.! It’s a relaxed, welcoming environment. The pumpkin spice latte is made with real pumpkin purée and hit the spot for a fall treat. We ordered the chicken wrap with it’s blend of savory flavors and is likely to become our favorite luncheon go to sandwich. We plan to make this a regular stop.”

“I've been here several times and have never been disappointed! Their chicken parmasean is the best that I've ever had. The chicken stays crispy and doesn't get soggy from the sauce. Their pizzas are huge and so good! Their sandwiches are always delicious and are a quick option for lunch. Love it!”

“We hadn't eaten at 5 Star for a while due to poor food quality, much smaller portions, and mediocre service the last time we ate there. However, I was craving the Shakey's style mojo's, so we just HAD to go! I'm glad we did. The service was a little better. We went on a Friday &, surprisingly, it was a slow night & not bust at all. My husband ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. He said it was crispy, crunchy on the outside & tender on the inside, as well as covered with plenty of the Nashville Hot Sauce. I ordered the Royale with cheese and the 5 Star sauce. We both substituted the Mojo's for the fries. The burger with the 5 Star sauce was delicious, and the Mojo's, ah, the Mojo's. They were cooked to perfection! Golden & crispy on the outside, just the right texture of tender potato on the inside; fresh & hot of the fryer. And the side serving was larger than the last time we had eaten there. In my opinion, the Mojo's are, hands down, The. Best. Thing. On. The. Menu. As I like to say, "I'm just here for the Mojo's!"”

“Wife and I stopped in on a weekday for seafood. Wife had their crab Alfredo I had the endless shrimp with a wicked margarita. My wife's dinner was fantastic with a large portion and a lot of crab chunks while my shrimp consisted of Dragon shrimp, grilled shrimp, Walt's breaded shrimp. Their new Dragon shrimp is fantastic a little hot but not flaming and crunchy. I devoured 3 helpings. My wife and I agreed Red Lobster is the place to go for seafood. The margaritas were large and flavorful.”

“I came through Elkhart with a coach bus loaded with 55 adults at 6:30 am. After calling them on a short 5 minute notice they said they're short staffed but no problem, they would get us in. Our waitress Jasmine and the rest of the staff did an excellent job going above and beyond to accommodate our group. The orders were filled sooner than I expected and the food was great as well. My omelette was perfect.”

“Drive thru service was quick, we didn't have to wait besides the line. Food tasted like typical McDonald's.Their ice cream machine was down, but I've never been here before so I couldn't say if that's a regular thing or not. Also, with it being right on a busy road, getting out was a pain.”

I came across several in the area but their ratings were not so good.However, Simeri's rating was acceptable so I decided to give it a shot.The environment was very warm, comfortable, and clean.The staff was very friendly and courteous. The other patrons were friendly as well. They were eager to greet my friend and I without hesitation...(Jess and her Dad) That made us feel a little more at ease.I was supposed to return Thursday for the live band but unfortunately, I was unable to. “This place absolutely has the best pizza and pasta my wife and I have had. I had the baked mostaccioli which was just amazing with plenty of cheese and pasta. My wife had the eggplant parmesan which was also terrific. Portions were large and the service by our waitress April was great. Our friends dining with us had the pizza which they said was outstanding. This is definitely a place you need to visit.”

“This is a staple cafe of the community so the decor is older and the place is older but it’s still good! Some things that differentiate this cafe from others. They have a variety of flavored creamers for coffee which is nice as well as regular half and half. They have 3 hot sauces you can choose from for your eggs. Their omelets are about $10 and can be made into two meals. I have always had excellent service here. Parking can be tight but there is normally a spot. I would not recommend this place for groups 6+. There’s only a few large tables and you could be waiting for awhile. Best if your party is 4 or less for quick seating. Overall, I consider this a staple among my cafe rotation!”

“Locally Owned and so much better than the National Brands! Miranda is the owner and very involved as she answered the phone this evening and takes your order! The Pizza was amazing! Hot, fresh and full of flavor! This was my first time but promise it won’t be my last time.BTW - This is how nice Miranda is….. I forgot my receipt. I called her and she emailed it to me right away. Then a couple minutes later, she followed up with a personal email to make sure I received the receipt she sent! It's a rare occasion but I could barely finish and couldn't eat anything for the rest of the day. My earlier trip I had a full order of biscuits and gravey. Be careful with that one as it is literally a platter of biscuits smothered in gravey which I finished. I have a good appetite and think you'll be happy with the portions.”

Unfortunately it must still be a popular flavor because all they had left was the soft serve flavorburst. Decent but doesn't compare to getting little chunks of gum with every bite.My partner got the deluxe cheeseburger which she enjoyed and we shared an order of fries. Everything decent.They handle the continuous line of vehicles and walk ups pretty efficiently. Wait times werent too long and the service was friendly enough.”

“I'm a bit of a BBQ addict. I have eaten more than once at every place within 25 miles of my home in Granger. Bill's never disappoint. Always tender, nice smoke wonderful sauce. My favorite by far. There are one or two seconds but Bill's is always supreme.”

Eggs ordered over hard and came out perfectly. Sausage is not overcooked and is full of flavour. Pancakes are light, fluffy, and golden brown. I have never seen the parking lot full.”

The garlic-cheese bread was better than elsewhere. The staff was welcoming and friendly. And the prices are less than expected - a good value for sure. “Elkhart is the halfway point between where l live in Iowa and my parents home in Ohio so I always stop to eat there. I used to eat at the Elkhart Cracker Barrel but that has gone downhill so tried Callahan’s and was pleasantly surprised. Don’t expect fancy decor ( basically a diner) but do expect abundant, well prepared food and efficient service at a reasonable price. I had the broiled chicken breast on my way to Ohio and the Grecian Pork Chops on the way back. Both were expertly cooked with nice grill marks on the outside and a tender, juicy interior. The beef and vegetable soup was excellent, tasted homemade, and had lots of fresh, not frozen vegetables. Never had room for dessert but they look good too. Will be stopping here every time I pass this way from now on.”
