Chubby Trout has the best food and staff. McKenna and Sierra will make sure that you have a perfect evening. The sushi is above and beyond and if you have enough room, make sure you try their crab bisque.

My husband and I eat at the Chubby Trout pretty regularly and the staff have always been the best. Today, we took our son with us and were told we had a 30 minute wait. We sat out in the breezeway and my four year old noticed one of the hostesses was changing the sign. He said “I like your drawing!” She smiled and took the time to talk to him, even including him in letting him choose the colors to “help” with the sign. Sometimes it’s hard to keep your child entertained for more than a few minutes, but she went above and beyond to make him feel happy and welcomed. She could have walked away, she could have politely asked him to leave her alone, but she her kindness was more impactful with my son. We have always felt welcomed when interacting with the servers and hosts at The Chubby Trout (which is why we come back monthly). As we walked out after our delicious meal, she same hostess said “Hey new best friend! Thanks for helping me with my sign! It looks great.” My son was beaming and didn’t stop talking about it the whole way home.
Tonight, we had the chubby trout meal , the prime rib, and the Sue Sue shrimp as an appetizer. All were fantastic! My son always gets the kids grilled cheese and somehow eats the entire thing (it’s huge and I hear you, “how can a grilled cheese be amazing?” But it is. My husband and I try to sneak bites of it. Maybe Cam needs to come up with an adult version. 😆).

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant, and it exceeded all my expectations. The rustic charm of the space immediately made us feel at home, and the friendly faces of the staff added a personal touch to the experience. I have multiple food allergies all outside the top 9. This was our first time eating here, which can always be hit or miss as to weather I will be able to find safe foods.
After some back and forth, the kitchen made me a really yummy dinner of salmon, green beans, and a baked potato. They brought salt, pepper, and fresh lemon for me to season everything with to my liking as I could not have any of the toppings or sauses.
When I asked about the pretzles as an appetizer, they said no as they dont make them. They didn't feel comfortable with me having anything that was made at an outside facility that they had no control over how it's made or the ingredients. Which I get I would rather them be overly cautious than have a reaction.
Definitely would come back when in the area and looking for someplace for fish for dinner!

Yeah huge! Place located by hotel that is top shelf. Look at the prime rib cut...smoked and top grade meat, this cut was over and inch thick or the Walleye filet with almond crust, so flakey and delicious! How about my side salad...yup this monster is just a simple side salad...are u kidding me!! Also had pretzel bites before dinner, so yummy. Get here early or plan to wait...oh yes it's a must try!
