This is by far the best Mexican restaurant in Elkhart. Their birria is to die for and their consomé is flavorful and bold. Their red tamales are amazing, and when they're in stock their tamales verdes will leave your mouth watering. The restaurant is very small. You should expect to order to go and only sit down here if you're flaco.Their horchata is also very good, it has a perfect blend of sweetness and cinnamon. I've yet to try their agua de Jamaica but when I go there again I can't imagine it'll disappoint me.Their service is amazing and they speak Spanish and English very well.If they're too busy, you'll have to park by the side of the road or in Family Dollar's parking lot as the parking lot is very small. (About 4-6 cars can fit.)Parking: About 4-6 parking spots.
Burrito was great but missed a modifier for unwanted ingredient which kind of took away from it. Tamales were meh doubt I would order again. The prices were more than reasonable though and the staff seemed very pleasant. Will try again.Parking: Only a handful of spots by the restaurant but full parking lot across street.Kid-friendliness: Had their own children there so would assume other kids are acceptable as well.

Plus you get some sides the other places don’t give you. The staff is so friendly, the atmosphere is cozy, but honestly, that brings so much charm to the place. Sit down next to someone new, strike up a conversation, and discuss the amazing flavors!So good…

Ordered steak burrito, first timer. Did not like it because of the red sauce its cooked in. I like my steak just seasoned, it look like Manwich.
I eat here like once a week. This place is phenomenal and extremely patient with you if you're learning Spanish. The food is as amazing as their customer service. I'll be back every Wednesday! ❤️

Well this is the most authentic, actual, real, Mexican food just like I grew up with... Everything about this place is perfect.... Well I guess the tortillas could be just a little bit thicker but I can't complain they're wonderful The sauces are wonderful The meats and seasonings are wonderful and I'm one who prefers no flubber and gristle in my food I can't say enough about what a wonderful experience this place is if you really want true authentic absolutely 100% real authentic Mexican food.... please visit.... Often!
We stumbled upon El Nopal Taqueria on a roadtrip and couldn’t have been happier. DELICIOUS food, friendly service, and affordable prices. The sauces served with the meal were especially notable. Will be back again!
