El Rancho Viejo Elkhart

I’m from close to the border and was prepared to be disappointed by a Mexican restaurant all the way this north! I was not! Great food! Friendly staff. Guacamole was fresh. Michaladas were better than AZ! (That’s saying a lot). When I didn’t finish my food ( portions are huge) I was offered a replacement in case I didn’t like it. I couldn’t say enough good things about this place!

And… I was ID’d… doesn’t always happen! Good for you all! Keep it going. Thanks for the experience.

The name is now Los Cabos. What a spectacular place to visit. They do not disappoint. Make sure you are hungry. Portion size is very good and the selection is outstanding. I decided to try something new so Del Cabo Seafood is the dish. Served cold it is wonderful trio of 3 shrimp dishes. A great balance one is a little sweet, one is tangy and the third has a spicy kick. Paired with their fresh made chunky guacamole and a Cantarito cocktail it was a memorable meal worth repeating. And don't forget dessert , if you have room, that is. . They even have a nice selection of vegetarian dishes.

There are a lot of great Mexican and Latin cuisine restaurants in the area, but El Rancho Viejo rises to the top. The prices are average, but the food is next level. I highly recommend the pastor and the guacamole Azteca.

I called and asked what time they closed and I was told 9I was meeting my daughter thereShe got there at 8 and told me they just closed so we didn't even eat there we had to make new plans quickly

Noticed this new Mexican restaurant in the old Bennigens building so we decided to give them a try. I had the Texas Fajitas my wife their Beef Chimichanga. Holy cow the flavor in my entree was incredible the meat was plentiful and easy to chew and plenty of fixings. My wife’s entree was flavorful also and there were two chimichangas covered in their white cheese and a whole gob of refried beans. I ordered thru the app on their website which does upcharge you a couple of bucks but worth it. This is our new go to for Mexican in Elkhart. So if you’re in the neighborhood stop in.

Had this place lastnight for the first time and oh my was the worst Mexican food I've ever had. It tasted like school cafeteria food. The meat tasted awful, not much flavor, everything was soggy and didn't taste fresh. 1 star is a stretch honestly. Was entirely too much for 3 meals that wasn't worth it at all. Taco bell gets 5 stars compared to here.

Good food good value. It's a little tough when server doesn't comprehend English entirely. Had to point at menu items and questions went unanswered be cause of language barrier.

Unexpectedly real good the reason I say unexpectedly is because I usually don’t care for burritos with sauces on top of it but it was excellent!

Chips and salsa of poor quality. The meat in the taco and burrito was way too salty. Having difficulty walking the bathroom was quite a distance to get to. After our meal I felt sick to my stomach.
