Very friendly, like the name says. We were just visiting Elwood. We had breakfast. The potatoes were soggy. The eggs and bacon were good. The worst part was the English muffin, believe it or not. I usually butter my own. I believe someone " buttered" it with the oldest grease ever. I spit my first bite out. Then, i had my husband smell the rest of it, and he said, " i wouldn't eat that".
Very, very diner like. If you're looking for retro, this is it. Surprisingly busy for as small as it is, but one server handled the crowd well. Sausage Gravy isn't quite homemade quality, but better than most any other diner / restaurant.
We stopped for breakfast and ordered 1/2 order sausage biscuits gravy which was tasty and seas just right. We also ordered 1 egg, ham and English muffin...what was delivered was 2 eggs, lots of ham and English muffin! We had so much delicious food that a "to go" box was warranted and appreciated by our small traveling canine!
