My girl and I have ate here twice already and look forward to other times in the near future. First time we went there, we didn’t know what to expect. We ordered several things. They do give you a choice on spicy heat level of 1-10. Being uneducated in it, she and I both asked for a six. I figured a touch over medium. Wrong. Lol it was intense, but as spicy as it was, I could not stop eating it. The flavors made each bite bearable. We even had leftovers the next day which we consumed without regret. This time we asked for a 3. It was better for us and the flavor was just as incredible. I look forward to the next time we go back. Ask for Pravesh and he’ll point you in the right direction.
Yak and Yeti has a calming ambience. There is a series of fine paintings of a mountain painted from a trekker's varying points-of-view along a trek. Other joyful art, including a tiny yak plushie, pairs with the gentle orange-painted walls for a relaxing/healing/calming atmosphere.
I eat here regularly as a part of my plan to prevent diabetes, which runs in my family. Good thing that it is economical to eat family-style at Y&Y. A favorite of ours is the Bhindi Dopyaza {Okra Curry} with rice and garlic naan {wheat bread with butter}.
Y&Y offers a spice level option (1 to 10) for some dishes, for example on the Okra Curry. I don't know how the kitchen staff do it: the spice level is always precisely accurate to my requested spice level. My spice level request varies between 2 and 6.
Service staff offer tip-tip meal recommendations, if asked. For example, Mr. Khem (Server at Y&Y) suggested that I try the masala tea—it is delicious. I'm glad I took his suggestion. Another winner of a recommendation is the Kashmiri naan with its yummy stuffings.
The goat and lamb are my suggestions to those looking for a healthier choice of red meat than pork or beef. There is no pork nor beef at Y&Y. There are many vegetarian choices, like the paneer {cheese} dishes which I sometimes order. They also serve chicken and seafood.
Overall, I give Yak & Yeti in Evansville a score of 20 out of 10, because they exceed my expectations for good food, service, price, and atmosphere. Thanks for reading.
Had to be one of the best dining experiences our little family has had in Evansville. Thank you for the great service. Karma, Khem, and Pavesh
Good and affordable food.
Momos were too bland, and Biryani didn't have the traditional taste to it. However, in a city where it is challenging to find decent Indian restaurants at all, this place stands out as a benchmark.
I wish I could give more than 5 stars!
This hidden gem in a small town truly impressed me with its incredible Himalayan and Indian fusion cuisine. The food is not only beautifully presented but also packed with authentic flavors. Everything is freshly made, and you can really taste the quality in each bite.
Karma and Khem helped us during our time here and were friendly.
The service was excellent, and the portion sizes are generous—all at a very affordable price. I visited on a Monday evening, and the place was jam-packed, which speaks volumes about its popularity.
Highly recommend trying the Spinach Chaat—refreshing and full of flavor. The Fried Paneer Chilli Momos were absolutely outstanding, paired perfectly with a flavorful sauce. The Veg Thukpa was rich and hearty—be sure to choose your spice level carefully; the medium was quite hot! And don’t miss the Himalayan Chai—the cardamom notes were simply delightful.
Overall, a fantastic experience. If you enjoy bold flavors and comforting spices, this place is a must-visit!
Don’t go here unless you want to wait hours for your pick up orderssssss. They’ll keep telling you 5 more minutes for and hour!🤣
Amazing food, fun and engaging staff, and extremely relaxing and welcoming atmosphere, 10/10 recommend, will continue to come and eat here.
Went for the first time today. The food was plentiful and delicious. The service was friendly and excellent. I will definitely go again. I can’t wait to try another dish. The menu is full of delicious sounding food.

I ordered online twice for delivery and both times they messed my order up but the food was still extremely good. I ordered butter chicken and was given something that. I'm glad I gave it a third chance because when I got the buyer chicken I ordered, I got it 2 nights in a row. I swear to God this might be the best meal I've ever eaten. The kids were with the wife out of town and I got the butter chicken at spice level 6 left night. Tonight I got it at spice level 8 and it was very comfortable but with the best flavor I could have hoped for. Can't wait to get more.
Dietary restrictions: Ample vegetarian options are available.
Unsure about vegan options.
Kid-friendliness: The restaurant is not super spacious so young children might not be set up for success here.
Wheelchair accessibility: No wheelchair parking spaces and the 2 doors to get inside would make it difficult for the wheelchair users out there.

Amazing food! Attentive staff. Seems like a well oiled machine of a business. Had the palak chat and actually shared it with a couple sitting near me because the serving was plenty and didn't want ANY going to waste. They loved it, too and said they are definitely ordering it next time. Also had the lamb bhuna. Full of spices and ordered medium heat- they hit that heat level on the nose, literally. It was just enough to make my nose run and help my sinuses but not so much that nothing was burning and it was most enjoyable. Well done Yak & Yeti! 10 stars if I could!
