“Cute place, family type atmosphere. Went there for breakfast with a group of 5, we were very happy with everything. Prices are reasonable. My friend had dropped their phone in water and the server gave us a zip lock bag full of rice to try and save the phone. Places like this are hard to come by these days. Don’t hesitate to check them out.“
“Ordered a 1/2 grinder so good definitely will order again very cheesy and meaty“
“I was visiting Sweetwater Saturday, 1-11-25, picking up some new gear. Because of the distance from my home, I usually make a day of it, and yesterday was no exception.
By the time I arrived, I was pretty hungry. So naturally I stopped in at the DownBeat Diner. They had a mostaccioli plate yesterday that looked truely delicious.
Everything was in the correct proportions. The sauce was great, but not watery like so many other places make. There were large meatballs that were so good, and the chef himself, added just the perfect amount of cheese to top off a great lunch.
I even went back to tell them how great the food was. When you find something this good, you have to let them know. Now, I let you know too.

“Review: Hall’s Prime Rib – Fort Wayne, IN ⭐️⭐️½ out of 3 (Ava’s Michelin-style rating) After two visits—one in the chill of February and another in the warmth of September 2025—Hall’s Prime Rib continues to impress with its inviting atmosphere and old-school charm. The ambiance alone earns high marks: cozy, familiar, and quietly elegant, it’s the kind of place that feels like a local institution without trying too hard. Vegetarian options? Not exactly their strong suit, but workable if you’re strategic. I ordered the Caesar salad sans meat, which came with two breadsticks. I did detect a few bacon bits sneaking in—an oversight I let slide, partly due to personal context (let’s just say my summer at Purdue Fort Wayne wasn’t one of my finest). Still, the breadsticks were a nice touch. The real standouts came from the fryer: cheese curds, fried mushrooms, and onion rings, all paired with a Diet Mountain Dew. The cheese curds? Hands down better than Culver’s or Dairy Queen—crispy, gooey, and satisfying. The fried mushrooms were a revelation, especially when compared to the offerings at Baba’s (yes, I’ve been to all four Fort Wayne locations). Hall’s version is crisp, flavorful, and leagues ahead. This particular visit followed an echocardiogram across the street at Parkview Hospital—a moment that called for comfort and familiarity. At just $40 (tip included), the meal delivered exactly that. It wasn’t just food; it was a small act of self-care wrapped in breading and nostalgia. While Hall’s may not cater to every dietary preference, it delivers on comfort, consistency, and a sense of place. If you’re looking for a Fort Wayne classic with hearty sides and a warm vibe, it’s worth a visit—even if you’re navigating the menu with a vegetarian lens.“

“This isn't really a review so much as props to the flexible employee behind the counter. They don't have root beer floats on their menu, but they have ice cream and root beer. My 7 year old daughter asked for a float, and he happily agreed. He charged a bit more than for a soft drink and a bit less than for a shake... So pretty much perfect. Props to the good employees everywhere, but specifically to this guy today!“
