ordered Chicago burger and cottage fries. Fries looked like old potato skins over cooked so much we couldn't eat them. Hard and burnt tasting. put picture of our cottage fries and what they advertise
Fantastic food with a relaxed, vintage atmosphere!
Review: Hall’s Prime Rib – Fort Wayne, IN
⭐️⭐️½ out of 3 (Ava’s Michelin-style rating)
After two visits—one in the chill of February and another in the warmth of September 2025—Hall’s Prime Rib continues to impress with its inviting atmosphere and old-school charm. The ambiance alone earns high marks: cozy, familiar, and quietly elegant, it’s the kind of place that feels like a local institution without trying too hard.

Based on the reviews, Hall's State Street is a hometown restaurant with Midwestern hospitality. The atmosphere is homey, cozy, and reminds one of a diner, though it is small with tables close together. The food is excellent and always comes out hot, with many items made in-house. Specific meals mentioned include the Baanh Mi salad, which was fresh and plentiful, and the cod sandwich, which came on a hoagie-style bun. The Nineties burger was especially good. For sides, the pit beans, onion rings, and mac and cheese are recommended, but the cottage fries were hard and burnt tasting. The staff is kind, friendly, professional, and respectful, and the service is quick. The bathrooms are clean. The parking lot is small, but there appears to be an overflow lot next door.
