I enjoyed the veggie tempura roll a lot, but be aware that even though it’s listed as vegan you still have to ask for no eel sauce. The first few bites of the ramen were great. I felt like the more I ate the ramen, the less enthusiastic I was. The broth was very good and I liked the kale noodles. Over time it just lacked depth. Overall it was a good experience and the staff was very helpful. Updated from previous review on 2025-04-25

The options I chose were very bland and the portions were small.

I have been to the fish markets in Tokyo and had some of the best ramen there. This place was just as good.

Food quality has declined since the last time we visited. When we told them the Wasabi wasn't hot at all, at the end of our meal, he informed us we should've ordered the fresh Wasabi off the menu.... excuse me, what? Is this a real thing? Crab Ragoon was good. Ginger tea also good. The server girl that was helping us was very nice.
But, there are gnats, bothersome gnats, not just one or 2 either.
My roll was ok. My husbands roll tho, was gross & waterlogged tuna and that made it mushy. He also ordered Nigiri and that was too very soft.
We will not be returning. There are way better spots with way better quality food.

Tuna was waterlogged and mushy and was a color I've never seen tuna before. It was obviously frozen and awful. I was served fake Wasabi and was told I could order real Wasabi if I wanted to pay for it. This place is a joke, waste of money. Had flies buzzing around our food constantly. Do not eat here.

We were traveling through Fort Wayne from Ohio and stopped at Haru Sushi Izakaya. The service was excellent and food fabulous! While their menu had a wide variety for any palette, we enjoyed the Tuna Tataki, Double Kill, and Ninja Rolls. They were superb! We have decided this is our "go to" place when traveling through Fort Wayne. Highly recommend!

We love this place and come often because it is now our favorite sushi spot. I don’t know if they changed owners or management but the past 2 times we have came in the last two months we Had gnats flying around us while eating, food all over the floor, etc. I tried the chicken bento box and my chicken was the darkest meat I’ve ever seen and again, we had gnats flying all around us. Thank god we didn’t choose to eat the raw seafood if the chicken looked that dark. We were very disappointed and won’t be coming back for a while.

My wife and I really love the vegan ramen and the vegan sushi options. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

Let me tell you, folks, I’ve been to some incredible places, but this sushi spot is truly the best—absolutely fantastic! It’s a tremendous restaurant, believe me. The atmosphere? Unbelievable. You walk in, and it’s classy, very classy. They’ve done a tremendous job with the decor—really top-notch.

Now, let’s talk about the sushi. The fish is fresh, folks—so fresh you’d think it just swam in from the ocean. They’ve got everything: tuna, salmon, and their specialty rolls are out of this world. You won’t believe the flavor; it’s a total win. The chefs are masters of their craft—real artists, folks, and they know what they’re doing.

Service? Absolutely the best. The staff is friendly, attentive, and they really make you feel special. It’s like they understand that when you’re dining, you want to feel like a winner. And guess what? You will!

So if you want the best sushi experience in the world, you’ve got to go here. It’s a tremendous choice, folks. You won’t regret it!

The new Volcano Ramen is the best ramen I've had in Indiana so far. The noodles are thinner, which feels more reminiscent of the ramen found in southern Japan, which is what I prefer.

The Volcano Ramen has a nice spice level, but you can even order it without spiciness too. The ramen was similar to Tantanmen, which I love, though Volcano ramen is chicken based instead of minced meat based.

So far, this is the best Japanese food restaurant we have found in Fort Wayne!
