Hadn't been here in a few years. Decided to come back today and was quite surprised. Staff weren't the nicest, but were still nice. The floor isn't super clean, and has actually never been. Otherwise, tables were clean and food was very delicious. Fries were better than I remember (especially the seasoning), and the Frisco melt is definitely worth getting again. Electronic ordering is strange; there are no waiters, and you have to scan a QR code on your receipt to activate the soda fountain which is strange but the future is now I guess. Glad this restaurant is still around, I'll definitely be back.

This review is an edit from a previous awful review I left in a time that this restaurant was basically a completely different store! The improvement of staff has been a complete turn around but most importantly the food quality has reminded me just how gosh darn good it is. Will continue surprising girlfriend with shakes and the steaks of course! Ty

Horrible management his ignorance is outstanding. I give this restaurant $50 a week and then they scam me on out of 20 when I pay for my order and just because it doesn’t come through the screen I am out of $20 and my steak ‘n Shake order.

I ordered a meal online and went in to pick it up. While waiting, I noticed a female cook pausing cooking and taking time to send text messages while wearing the same gloves she was cooking in. Once finally done texting, she went back to cooking in the SAME gloves! So I requested a refund and never got the food. They claimed to not know how to refund me. I’ve been calling for days and submitting contact forms and even completed a survey, but still NO RESPONSE from them! I’m still waiting on my money back! I will never eat there again. They obviously don’t know how to be sanitary OR how to prioritize.
I orderd two milkshakes for 26.90 and when I asked for a cup bag. Yes, that is a thing. Then when I came out with a 4 cup bag it ripped and fell! They need to make their cup holders better. Like $27 burnt for nothing!

Awful experience, I went on my birthday and was going to redeem a shake. They had already made the shake when I went to give them my coupon for it, and they had to get the manager for whatever reason. Now, during this time we had been waiting 10 minutes and the manager closed the window and proceeded to ignore us. Another 7 minutes had gone by and we were waiting confused until WE had to ask what was going on. The guy said that the manager had told us to pay even though we weren’t told anything. We left and they gave us no shake and had rather had wasted it and trashed it. I guess they’d rather throw it away than let me use it. Thanks Steak’n Shake, for ruining my birthday!!! P.S. hire better staff and management!

The food was decent. The service i watched another customer get was ridiculous. Educate your employees on how to handle customers. When a lady comes out and hollers for someone to get their milkshake, the man doesn't realize he ordered the shake by accident. Another man brings out his food, said customer tells food guy hey i ordered that shake she brought out. He says im sorry im not a manager i cant help you. What? Go tell shake lady pat wants his shake. I mean cmon. He paid for it, she brought it out.... Common sense says go tell her. He declined any help at all as he's not a manager. ??????? The steak and shake in auburn had diarrhea on the floor in the bathroom stall. This chain needs a revamp, for real.

The food was DELICIOUS. So me and my wife came here for dinner on a night out together. Instead of getting fountain drinks we got shakes. I will say it was the best choices we made. The shakes were phenomenal!!! We will definitely be coming back.
