The food quality is superior to its other competitors in town and the amount of food that your receive is enough for two meals making the price well worth it. They have a birthday/anniversary celebration ice cream with a sparkler and a celebration song while the staff comes and claps for you. What a nostalgic please to bring the family. The chefs are great and each one has their own flare on their cooking styles and tricks. 10/10 would recommend. Also, I would recommend making reservations to ensure you can get in especially on a weekend!

My husband and I ate here the other night, he had to work late and we wanted to have a nice dinner and we like hibachi. So we decided to try this place. I was shocked at how high the prices were. Where we are from, we have quite a few choices of Hibachi restaurants, and none are nearly as expensive as this one. The one that we frequent most often, is actually more than 25% less than what this one costs. I thought it would be a nicer restaurant. The food was good, but the decor and restaurant itself was very dark, dreary and old looking. The worst part about our visit was the servers hovering over us, as we were the last table there. We were seated with a family of four people. We had arrived just prior to 8 p.m., and they were really rushing to get us out of there. I actually had a fork full of food I was putting in my mouth and the server was trying to take away my sauces and asking me if I was done. Honestly, I've never been to any restaurant where this has happened. They brought us to go containers right after we got our food. We will not be going back here. For the price that we paid, and how we were treated, it just is not worth it to us.

I just don't understand why people still go here when we have better options in town. We were there on a Wednesday at 5pm. I expected it to be less busy which it was. We were 1 of 3 tables. Our cook had a hard time cooking and asked the manager if this table was still broken. Yes it was. Low means high. Well, all of our food was burnt. I've actually never had burnt food at hibachi over the 20+ times I've had it. We ordered filet medium. It was more than well done after the cook gave a lady a weird look for ordering well done and clarifying that she didn't want any pink... our steaks were done more than hers! The performance from a chef who's been there a long time was off. He dropped just about everything and flipped a shrimp tail at my daughter... which had sauce on it so I'll be getting that stain out later. The two people clearing tables stood against the wall, staring at us like bouncers with grimaced scowls on their faces. Good timing between soup salad, and meal. Boxes were given while we were actively eating. I never liked how smokey it was on busy evenings so I was excited to go early for a different experience. This was not a good experience and I'm just done trying to support them solely based on the idea that they are a long standing Fort Wayne restaurant. If they respected their customers and provided good food, atmosphere, and service, they could earn their reputation back.

A little more expensive than the other two places in town but the portion size is much larger. Also they do things a little different in a good way than the other places which makes it unique; I would normally say if you went to one you have been to them all, but not here. I found the soup above average and the salad lettuce was very fresh which is better than the other two places.
The beer was only $5 for a Two Heated. Pretty good beer price as long as you don’t pick the Japanese beers.
The big detractor to this place is the ventilation. The longer this place is open, the more smoky it gets in there. They have in grill level exhaust which is not doing much. They need overhead exhaust.
On the plus side if you like yum yum sauce they got it. Too sweet for me though.

The scallops needed to be cooked a little longer. We felt rushed through from the time we got there until we left. Soup was served. And immediately the salad was served. You didn't get a chance to eat the soup. After the salad arrived, the shrimp appetizer was served. The show was rushed throughout the whole meal. They were clearing dishes when we weren't done eating. We were there Saturday around 4:10 . March 28th.

My husband and I love this place it's our favorite. This experience was very irritating. Our chef ignored my husband and I in favor of our very boisterous table mates. We did however get a front and center view of the trash bowl. This was our anniversary dinner.

We have not eaten here for awhile, but decided to go there for a change because we usually go to Koto for hibachi because it is closer to home. Boy did we get sticker shock. My husband always orders filet, my son shrimp and I get the two coldwater lobster tails. Here is the price difference. Filet...Takaoka $40, Koto $29. Shrimp....Takaoka $36, Koto $24. Two lobsters...Takaoka $54, Koto $41. With 20% tip and 8% tax the bill was $166 at Takaoka (we had no drinks, appetizers, etc just the entrees). At Koto that exact same meal is $120, That is a HUGE difference in price, not to mention Takaoka, unlike Koto, has terrible ventilation..it is really smokey. The food and chef were good though, but not worth a $46 price difference for the same food for three people
