My husband and I absolutely love this restaurant. From the service, to the food, to the cleanliness of the restaurant, it's my favorite place for some good sushi and miso soup. Always 10/10!!

Better sushi and entrees than what can be found nearby in Fishers in my opinion. This is our consistent sushi place.

I have family in the area that love Bonsai, so I finally checked it out! I'm glad that I did. For a small town restaurant they offer a great menu. Their boba tea was great, the chicken and fried rice dishes were filling and their sushi was good too. The server was friendly and helpful to our table. When we arrived (right at opening) it was empty but several to-go orders were picked up. People trickled in as we were eating. Seems like a well- loved place on the community. And it's in the cute downtown strip of Fortville.

Great food and friendly prompt service. Very reasonable prices too! Owner stopped by our table and checked on us. Very highly recommended.

I had the pink elephant roll, it was easily a 5*. The crab rangoon was also very good, probably a 4*. It would have been 5* if they had dabbed the extra grease off before bringing it out to the table. The challenges came with the traditional Chinese chicken dishes. We had both the Orange Chicken and the General Tso. The Orange Chicken wasn't bad at all, a few tough pieces that tasted either over cooked, or cooked previously then reheated. The General Tso's wasn't good at all an easy 1*. It's one of my favorites so I've had it in multiple places, this was very low on the list if not the bottom. The service was good, It was to the point that we didn't really notice the server, but we also never wanted for anything. To me that is perfect service. When initially taking our order she was happy to provide recommendations on the rolls. I will be going back, this time I will stick to the sushi and maybe an appetizer or two. I'm expecting that visit to be 5/5*.

local, hometown sushi bar that keeps up with the big guys in the city Fresh sushi being made behind a counter where you can watch. I absolutely love their lobster roll and the pink elephant(iykyk). The VIP roll is delicious and a delight ti see it deliver on fire! Appetizer favorites are the cado green and crab rangoon, which is a little different than the usual, they are fried crispy outside, and so creamy in the inside. Live their seaweed salad, the dressing is drinkable. Must not miss: bubble tea in variety of flavors. The restaurant is in an old storefront on Main street and has an o brick wall, along with the same creaky hardwood floors from its early days. Its simple and clean. The owner Tim is usually there for dinner and has a mix of well experienced and new, high school servers. They do a great job! Fortville has become a hub of great restaurants. And bonsai is one of them. A family friendly sushi spot on Main st.

The ambiance and food here is amazing! I came here for a last minute sushi craving and I was not disappointed! The servers are super friendly and kind and they're very fast and efficient with their food preparation. Their boba tea is also very good! Not many options but I'm sure they'll expand on that soon! Definitely recommend!

Vastly different each time we went, and we probably won't be back. A shame as it's so close to home. Sushi was not fresh. The ginger on the plate was not fresh either. The Moscow mule my wife raved about our first visit was very bad on the second visit. Service on our first visit was incredibly slow, with kids food coming out after our main entrees, and sushi 10 minutes after that. I got beef & broccoli and it was incredibly salty, (nearly inedible). Second visit I got beef ramen. It was miso broth, udon noodles and three strips of beef jerky, (only way I can describe the beef). The beef was bland and nearly impossible to cut- with utensils or teeth.I initially was going to rate Bonsai Fortville at two stars, as my wife liked her crab rangoon roll she got both times, but my food was not good either time. I also noticed the establishment plays christian rock- certainly within their right- but nothing I'd care to listen to while dining.

Had the Mongolian Beef, it is listed on the menu as thin sliced beef, but what I got was 1 inch cubes of steak. The steak was hard to chew. It was mostly a steak cut into chunks with peppers cut in large chunks covered in soy sauce. The egg rolls were good. I think sushi must be their thing, because the Mongolian Beef was not.

WE LOVEESEE THIS PLACE! Try the bento box it's $15 but gives you a good variety to try their food! It gives you a meat, 1 dumpling, 1 crab Raku, 1 egg roll, fried/white rice, and 4 pierces of a cali roll. The sushi is amazing! We had the surf and turf which was great! It had actual steak on top of the sushi just cooked medium/rare. Love how unique this place is! In the heart of fortville just by the train tracks.

Food was quick delicious service was on top of everything. Very reasonably priced. Only wish is I had extra general tsos sauce and a bigger stomach. The big Rangoon roll was absolutely the seller for me.

Just bought 2 orders of crab ragoons with yum yum sauce! They used to be extremely good, always fresh. The last few times my husband and I have purchased them they were made in old oil, they were made with very little filling inside, and seemed to be sitting for a while! Extremely disappointed! It's the only restaurant near by with crab ragoons.
