We’ve been going here for pizza and ice cream since they started selling pizza. We’ve absolutely loved it…. Until recently. On three different occasions now, we’ve went and not been greeted when we come in and it seems like we are an inconvenience. I can tell from past reviews, the owner is going to defend their employees behavior. We typically don’t have any issues with the younger girls. They are always very nice, however the older dark haired employees isn’t friendly & makes it seem like we aren’t supposed to be there. At this point, I’m not sure if we’ll continue coming in. It’s been a very uncomfortable feeling the last few times we’ve been in.

Fun place to visit. The ice cream and coffee aren't bad either.

The food was fantastic but God forbid you have to ask the staff a question. One of the younger gals was super sweet but the tall older blond woman is rude. I asked a simple question about a smoothie I ordered and was told “I don’t have enough hands to carry it all. It’s coming.”
Without tourist, your business wouldn’t be there.🤷🏻‍♀️

French Licks Ice Cream & Restaurant isn’t just a pit stop—it’s destination dining with a hometown vibe. The pizzas are a surprise standout: fast, fresh, and wildly creative. The Loaded Baked Potato, Jalapeño Popper, and Cheeseburger pies are personal favorites, but honestly, you can’t go wrong. The pretzels are soft, salty perfection, and the specialty drinks? Absolute fire.

Then there’s the ice cream—rich, creamy, and worth the trip all on its own. The Dark Chocolate Cherry Almond is my #1 pick, but I haven’t had a bad scoop yet. Grab a root beer float or a lemon shake-up if you’re feeling classic.

Tucked right next to the museum and walkable to shops and Larry Bird’s old hangouts, French Licks is the kind of place where locals and visitors mingle over great food and even better desserts. Honorable mention goes to their great coffee and espresso—perfect if you need a pick-me-up before strolling over to the French Lick Resort.

If you’re in town, make it a priority stop.

I asked the staff to surprise me and make me a latte. And she did just that. Made me a delish latte to get me back home.

Taco Pizza was amazing. We didn’t care for the loaded potato but that was just our taste.

Expresso martini was great. Staff was nice.

Appreciated the “board” games to play.

Expensive for a scoop of ice cream 4$ and it is the size of a kids cup. 2 kid cups and 2 fountain sodas 15$. Better off at DQ!

I love this restaurant! They have so many fun ice cream flavors, boba tea, and great coffee. The ice cream is actually some of the best I have ever had. I could and have eaten it all day.
The pizzas come in one size but they are also the best too with fresh toppings. My husband gets the buffalo chicken pizza all the time. I have family from Iowa who always have to get the margherita pizza and loaded baked potato pizzas every time they visit.

Dietary restrictions: They have rice and cauliflower crusts for pizzas. There are a lot of gluten free ice cream options as well. If you need one without cross contamination the staff are great with getting a fresh tub from the back. There is usually one dairy free sorbet. They also have the choice of almond, oat, and soy milks. Sometimes coconut milk. Their smoothies are dairy free as well.

Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome here! They have yard games on the patio during the summer, coloring pages with crayons by the pizza register, board games, and a bookcase with Barbie books, Dr. Seuss books, Disney books, and others.
