Amazed & thankful for be able to return to such a beautiful & kind place. Can't think of anything that could feel/look like heaven than this hotel. Thank you for making our honeymoon & 50th special.
Visited with my husband not too long ago for our anniversary. We got a suite and it had dust bunnies everywhere! I heard a couple down the hallway arguing the walls off! The rooms smelt like a laundry mat and the carpet felt old and dirty. We ordered in room dining as well and the food was absolutely sloppy! For 390 a night we were very unhappy and disappointed.
French Lick is so pretty! Me and my husband love it there ❤️ spent our anniversary there last 2 days and when we checked in they had left us a box of chocolates, that was really nice of them 🙂 March 27 @ 28th 2025
Simply the best! Highly recommended. This is the Waldo Hotel located in Clarksburg West Virginia which like the French Lick Resort was also designed by the reknowned architect Harrison Albright. When the Hotel was opened in 1904,it was considered to be one of the most luxurious hotels in the State of West Virginia.Hopefully it can be saved. It was recently acquired by the City for potential redevelopment.
Ate dinner here the day before Christmas Eve. Located in the Casino building (hang a left before you would enter the Casino proper), the setting was casual as expected (for example, cocktails served in a plastic cup). The Fillet Mignon was cooked to perfection (their steaks are sourced from the same as the highly lauded 1875 restaurant in the French Lick Hotel) and the bread pudding was delicious. Our waitress was friendly, and while a bit pricey, it was an overall good experience.
Food was Decent and our waitress did a Great job. But that being said there was this Employee that was rude yelling at other Employees. Complaining out loud about her job description and bitching about Everything and the job etc. I felt so Sorry for one of the other Employees. . My Wife and I just left that Place as soon as we ate.We got her name from other Employers. (Paulette) doesn’t do you business any Favors. And when we asked our waitress about her she just rolled her eyes and said We know. Awful Atmosphere with her in the mix. 😳
fun place, good price, quality sleep
Our family watched the Vanderbilt game here Saturday afternoon which ended up lasting 4 hours. They were very accommodating and set us up nicely in front of a huge TV. Our waitress Tammy was fantastic! She checked on us every 5-10 minutes and made sure we had everything we needed for 4 hours! Even when they got super crowded she still managed to check on us as often! Best waitress ever!!!
We genuinely appreciate French Lick. It’s been a great experience doing business with you, and we’re eager to keep building on this partnership moving forward!
Great resort. plan on no food after 11 unless you want to walk about 1/2 mile for a sandwich in the casino. can't even get a pizza late. no bueno.

Amazing!! From top to bottom - beautiful and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful.
Great place to visit. Beautiful scenery and friendly people.
Paying $22 for a burger is definitely overpriced, but I figured I would just use some of what I earned from the casino. However, the burger was really good, and I was impressed. My friend had to ask three people for a drink (a simple pop), and got his food before ever getting his drink.
Food was good. Got a hot dog, salad and burger one beer 100 dollars before tip.. VERY overpriced.
Sat at the bar. Loved the atmosphere. Bartender was nice and we talked a lot. Drinks were good, dessert was okay, but nothing special. Food seemed good here coming out of the kitchen, but it is pricey.
