We stopped here while traveling through and let me tell you it was amazing. My wife ordered Dem grits and she orders shrimp and grits almost everywhere we go. She said theirs was by far the best she has ever had. I had chicken and waffles with a hot honey sauce on the wings. My order took a little longer because the chicken was made to order. My foods was just as great! Our server was amazing and friendly as was the atmosphere.

My wife and I visited J’s Breakfast Club with our Indiana cousins, and the experience was a mix of highs and lows. When we pulled up, there was an outdoor celebration with performers and vendors, which added a festive vibe to the already aesthetically pleasing location. The people were friendly, and the atmosphere had a charming, country feel.
We placed our orders, and while my meal was good, my wife, who is a chef, ordered the catfish and grits but was served shrimp and grits instead. When she pointed this out, the staff brought her a single piece of catfish but didn’t offer the grits to complete the dish. We assumed they would eventually bring replacement grits, but that didn’t happen. After waiting, we inquired again, and it seemed the restaurant felt the shrimp and the added catfish fillet was a suitable compromise. However, my wife really wanted the dish as she originally ordered it.
Eventually, they brought out the correct dish, and it looked great, but the process took longer than expected. The waitress insisted on collecting the incorrect, cold dish, which felt a bit petty. As someone who has dined at many fine establishments worldwide, it struck me that a more accommodating approach would have been to leave both dishes and possibly offer a comped meal for the inconvenience.
While I appreciate supporting black-owned businesses, I want to share this feedback to help improve the overall experience. Your brand is not just your logo and colors; it’s how people feel when they engage with your establishment. We hope to return in the future and see continued growth in customer service.

The food people take pictures of at the restaurant looks so good. I ordered a breakfast bowl from DoorDash for $17 (including tip), and I got what looked like a bowl of microwaved slop, with two little bone dry sausage patties. Just another restaurant ripping off people who order for delivery with sub-par food.
I have been to J's on multiple occasions and had good food and service. My cousins came in town and they were hungry so I decided to take them to J's. We arrived and was seated. We placed orders and my cousin and I ordered catfish and grits. When the food came out she was given shrimp & grits instead. She told the young man who brought our food she ordered catfish. The waitress messed up the order. He took the shrimp and grits back then returned and stated we could keep it and that they were making more grits. He then brought a separate piece of catfish on a plate alone. My cousin was still waiting for a while so we asked the waitress were they going to bring her food as she ordered it. She then pointed to the shrimp and grits and asked her "You don't eat shrimp? ? That's why they gave you that." We explained that she did not order shrimp and would like her dish all together with her catfish and grits they way it was ordered. She finally brought the catfish and grits out much later. The waitress took the shrimp and grits and as my cousin attempted to move her half eaten catfish to her main plate the waitress looked at her said "you don't get to keep that" and made her give it to her. There was no apologies for my cousin waiting for a replacement due to the waitress messing up the order and we were appalled at the fact she implied she should just eat the shrimp & grits and returned to retrieve the cold half eaten piece of catfish. I love the food here however the customer service we experienced during our visit was unacceptable. I felt bad as I was the one that raved about the food at the restaurant and my cousin was very disappointed with her experience.

I was craving Chicken and waffles did not want to go to Chicago and I’m so happy I choice this location. Number one I don’t eat waffles and I will tell you I love waffles from this location I LOVE WAFFLES FROM THIS LOCATION!!! I literally have to order some to go!!!

I had been wanting to try this restaurant for a while now. I ordered takeout shrimp n grits, biscuits n gravy side of scrambled eggs. The presentation was excellent however I noticed my shrimp wasn’t devein and that’s a big no no for me!! I may try something else in the future.
