I walked over for a taco snack while waiting to get a tire fixed at Monteith's. Friendly service alot of outdoor seating. Had the taco asada and it was fantastic. There are four choices of salsas to put on the tacos. Looking forward to going back and trying the other taco/burrito options.
Went there a couple times for lunch at work. It's really hit or miss it seems. They are very nice but understaffed. First time was rough, very dry crunchy pork tacos and burrito was soggy and fell apart instantly. Second time the steak tacos were really good and meat was juicy. The gordita was also very good although a little messy to eat. The red and green sauce is good but ask for extra cause little servings
Got an asada burrito supreme today to bring home for dinner. Being from the south side of Chicago, not as big as I’m used to. But the absolute perfection of the meat and the flavors that came from it are UNREAL. It was phenomenal. I wanted to get another one and was tempted to. The El Portal taco truck never disappoints!
