PLEASE NOTE: if you make reservations for a special occasion such as Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or any family holiday, they will not honor your reservation!

My party had a reservation for 1pm and did not get sat until 2:15. Several other parties waiting around us in the lobby were in the same position. The person who was seating people had no list of reservations, and was just picking people out of the crowd to seat. It didn’t matter to them who had a reservation or not.

Food was just alright, the shrimp was disappointing, and service was underprepared. Our server was obviously overwhelmed and frustrated with the situation at hand and it could be seen with their service to the table. The chef was in the same position. The vegetables and rice were not cooked all the way in his attempt to hurry through to the next table. Only 4 cooks, 3 servers, and 1 host on a day that would be assumed to be a very busy day.

I’m sure if it was any other day then it would’ve been okay, but on a major holiday, I would not recommend. It’s very disappointing to see that no reservations were honored at the time requested even though the reservation was made 3 weeks in advance.

We visited House of Tokyo for a family birthday celebration and chose the hibachi grill. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing.

Our chef was extremely disengaged. He barely spoke, showed no interaction with the table, and appeared irritated to be there. Hibachi is typically an enjoyable and interactive experience, so this was noticeably lacking.

More concerning was a serious food safety issue. The chef placed raw chicken on the grill, then used the same spatula to push it aside. Without cleaning it, he immediately used that same utensil to serve vegetables onto our plates. This meant raw chicken juices were transferred directly onto cooked food. This happened more than once and was very unsettling.

The pacing of the meal was also poor. While we understand food is served in stages, there were long gaps between items. We were given rice and then waited quite a while before receiving anything else, which made the meal feel disjointed.

Additionally, the chef made a couple of rude remarks toward me and rolled his eyes at members of our table, despite us being polite and respectful throughout the evening.

Overall, this was not the experience we expected for a special occasion. Due to the lack of professionalism and the food handling concerns, we will not be returning.

Great experience as always! Food is delicious, the chefs are humorous and entertaining, and the wait staff is on it! They’re always able to handle our 20+ party size with no issues, would definitely recommend this place for lunch or dinner, and as a place to hold gatherings and celebrations!

We loved the atmosphere of the whole place and getting to feed the fishes was an addition for the kids! However, food wasn’t very flavorful specially the shrimps had a funky taste. It seemed like the whole Hibachi experience was missing engagement. The chefs didn’t seem to engage/entertain the customers, which was a bit disappointing. The server was very nice and very welcoming.

This used to be our favorite place. The last 3x we placed to go orders, they have really skimped on what they used to give. Staff is not friendly. After tonight we will not return.

So I got a doordash order from them. It took them over 40 minutes just for them to prepare it. I got the order and had to drive 22 minutes to the restaurant. When I got there the order wasn’t even prepared and I had to wait another 20 minutes for them to prepare it. Ridiculous. It should have been prepared by the time I got there.

First and last time at house of Tokyo. The servers were rude and so was the chef. Loudly interrupting people in our party on order to shout “Next! Drink?” In order to take our drink orders. Chef Luis is unfriendly and grumpy. Zero engagement and loudly fussed at someone in our party for moving their plate. Then whistled twice to get someone’s attention. He seemed unhappy to have been summoned from the kitchen. The portions are comically small compared to other places in the area and of lesser quality. They’re priced higher than their competition though. I was surprised at how quiet the restaurant was when we arrived, but it makes sense now.
