La Trattoria Italian Restaurant

I live nearby so frequent LaT and have never been disappointed!!! If there is a wait you must stay…it is SO worth it!!! -Amy

Food was great. Everything was good all around!

If I could give this place a 10 star review I would. Fresh food, healthy atmosphere and great people. We drive an hour and a half just to eat here.

Chef sampler was amazing, best Fettuccine Alfredo I have ever eaten in my life! Service was great!

Ravioli was hard and not handmade for $20
Shrimp scampi was very bland not sure it was cooked with red wine.

Was seated right away (on a Saturday)but waited over 15 min and was never acknowledged once, even for a drink, after seated. It was not overly busy. Multiple empty tables. At least 3-4 staff walked by many times so we just got up and left. This has always been our favorite restaurant up until now. Me and my husband had been out to a movie and thought it would be a nice date night dinner.
Side note: Was looking at the menu and the prices have gone up tremendously! Used to always get the ribeye and fettuccine. Now $49 for the ribeye and an $8 upcharge for the fettuccine!! We were ready to pay the price but the poor service changed our minds.

La Trattoria is and will always be a south side staple.

We started off with the cheesy potatoes and meatballs which were both killer. The potatoes in particular are a must, covered in broiled cheese they just slapped!

I had the baked rigatoni with a side of Italian sausage and would love to know where they source the sausages. Perfect spice, great snap on the bite.

The wine was fantastic and $10 for a healthy glass of Pinot? Yes please. Enjoyed and will be back.

Seating is closer together than I prefer but the food is worth it. Filet, portobello mushroom, tilapia, alfredo… we’ll definitely be going there regularly.

If I could give zero, I would. I have heard nothing but great things about La Trattoria. Things started very friendly, the hostess at the front greeted us and said just a few minutes for a table. She promptly seated us. We went over the menu during our wait. We decided on an appetizer and a wine selection. Still, as the staff took other tables' orders, we sat. We continued with the menu, decided on our entré s, sides, and dressing for the salad. Still, not one employee acknowledged our presence as they busily walked past us over and over. We spoke of the items on the menu upon our return to try. We talked and decided on the dessert that we would enjoy, neatly placing our menus in a stack in the middle of the table. We made some chat about the decore that was nice. Finally, my girlfriend asked the couple sitting at the table beside us, who was seated just before us, already having wine and salad, if it always takes so long to be greeted at a table here? After some cheerful chat, the gentlman excused himself. Shortly after the front of the house hostess that seated us, she said that the gentleman pointed out that we had not been greeted. She made apologies for her apparent lack of informing someone else that there were people who had made a choice to dine at this restaurant and needed to be greeted. Somewhere between the time that we noticed the 2 people that came in after us were seated, greeted, and served, and the time the front of the house woman came to apologize... (only because she was prompted by a fellow patron). My girl pointed out all of the employees that walked past us and our table, yet not one made the effort to find out why we sat with an empty table of folded menus. We made a reservation down the street. Sorry, La Trattoria, you only get one chance for a first impression. You had such potential.

Hostess and staff are very friendly and accommodating. They're on spot at all times/as you need them. Great menu selections. Every dish is a splendid example of excellent cooking. Kudos to the chefs! In my book, the whole experience was 5-star in every way!

Hands down the BEST meal I have had in a long long time! Would have never expected it! Quaint little environment, so friendly and mouth watering steak!! Ruth's Chris used to be my favorite steak house but not anymore! This will be my go to from now on! Will absolutely be back!
