Went to the one in tinley park Illinois was the worst experience ever. About 2 weeks ago we got there at 2 was promised it would be a few minutes ended up being over hour wait. Tables weren’t cleaned as people left. I commented to the manager we’ve been waiting a long time with three little kids. She commented well sometimes the waits long. Finally sat down was awhile before anyone came for drink order. When they did come took awhile before we got the drinks. Asked the manager where are drinks were she said they are coming he had 2 other tables. She was going to grab me a water never came back. When we finally got our food was told Cole slaw wasn’t ready I ate my whole meal finally got it when I was down. The manager walked over to a table not sure if they were family but stayed there for awhile then picked up a crying baby and continued to carry this baby around as she was trying to do her job. I tried to get her attention numerous times but she was chatting away with her family and taking care of a baby. Finally around 5 yes now three hours later I asked the manager if for all our troubles could we have something off the bill her response was why I told you it could be a long wait. Called the next day talked to new manager Angel she sounded like she cared but really just to get me off the phone. Asked me to please give it another chance that she was sent there to clean up the store. She said please let me send you some food vouchers so you could come back. That’s how we left it still waiting on food vouchers. That place has been going down hill for awhile. There were other numerous people also complaining that day. People who came in after us ate and were long gone. Beware if you don’t have three hours to spend on dinner don’t go there. Have been to so many Cracker Barrel’s in many states but never one so bad or rude.
the new app set up is so much better with options that make sense for any additional add ons!
I really enjoy the food and the ice tea. and I can always go shopping 🛍 in the store and find something for me and my family. P.S. I always buy the can apples for my neighbor he loves them.
The Easter prime rib dinner was delicious! The only problem was I added a Coca Cola cake for dessert and instead of getting a cake, I got 5 of the large slices, not the freshest or what I expected!
I always love their menu but the new Louisiana-style shrimp skillet is not good. We were in Hammond, IN last night for dinner. The rice was crunchy, the bread looked squashed and was dry, the shrimp oily. Not good.
Very disappointed on serving size. They advertise large portions & it seems like you are getting a lot per the menu, but not so much. The waitress was attentive and the taste of the food was good. But, for what you are paying, the portions are small. Usually when we go for breakfast we are usually bringing home hash browns because they give you so much. This was like a ice cream scoop of potatoes. I got 2 eggs. They looked like small eggs
Cracker Barrel is a great spot for a classic, home-style meal with a cozy, nostalgic atmosphere. The menu has a solid selection of Southern comfort food, from biscuits and gravy to country-fried steak, all served in generous portions. The staff is friendly and efficient, even when the restaurant is busy. Plus, the general store at the front is a fun touch, offering unique gifts, old-fashioned candies, and seasonal decor. Whether you’re stopping in for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, there’s always something satisfying on the menu.
That said, depending on the location and time of day, wait times can be a bit long, especially on weekends. The food is usually consistent, but occasionally, a dish might come out a little overcooked or underseasoned. Still, for the price and the overall experience, Cracker Barrel delivers a warm, welcoming meal that feels like home. It’s a great choice for a road trip stop or a casual family meal.

Every Single time we have come to this location, we get the short end of the stick. When asked to be seated at the first round and regular table, pushed together to accommodate my family, one young lady stated, im not bussing that table, it's not mine and I've been bussing all day. (Isn't that your job? You are getting paid to do that)
Took forever to get said tables cleared, as noone wanted to do it. Once seated, it took forever for us to get drinks, silverware, and although we asked multiple times for rolls, crackers or something to hold over my twin grandchildren, we never got any of it until our food came. My daughter never did get her appetizer, and we were told the one thing we always come for, one of the restaurants main dishes, chicken and dumplings. The food took FOREVER to arrive and I promise you, they were not at all busy. Busy with folks that are actually in the restaurant. What we noticed once again is that Doordash orders are taking precedence over everyone who is actually sitting in the restaurant. So incredibly disappointed.

They were out of a lot of selections and my food came cold. My seasoned rice was overcooked and hard and my country fried steak was barely warm.

Went there a hour or two before closing maybe that was my mistake waitress was grumpy had some seasoned rice was hard like it was barely cooked and the meatloaf was lukewarm at best. Been there plenty of times and this was a first gonna give them another try but if it turns out like this again I will have to take my business elsewhere.

Have a designated person at the pick-up area when it's busy. The young lady at the checkout was very short with me (did not care). But I understood because I was trying to add an item I forgot for my pickup order. I went to the front to add a drink to my order. Was given no instruction afterwards. They claimed to have placed the order (I didn't pay. So how?). I asked the service person if I should wait there. Was told to go back to the pick-up area. I waited 10 minutes. No one came with the drink! Had to leave, I told the cashier, I mentioned that I wasn't sure if they charged me. She said "me either" and kept going (did not care at all). Thank God that I didn't get charged for the drink. It was a confusing experience.
