“Our server this evening was absolutely wonderful! She was the only bartender and waitresses. She was a Rockstar! Not only did she provide great service to us. She was amazing with all the other guests. She had a full bar and about 8 tables. We had a wonderful evening!”

“Great beers and whiskey, nachos with the blackened chicken were very tasty. The two beers we tried were both very easy drinkers with plenty of flavor. Food and drink menu had a nice selection for everyone, next time I would love to try the smoked mushroom tacos. Service was great and helpful. Patio was dog friendly, but really lacking any character or shade. There were no umbrellas and made our visit a little hurried.”

“Visiting the area and family wanted us to try their brews as one of their favorites. Tried a flight of 10 beers and favs were Tangerine Trackstar, Toxic Words, Lucifer in a haze, Immoveable King, Nuban overlord and the top one Here comes the reaper. We also had the Pretzel and queso for snacks. They were very good and fast. They also had ice tea which is not always available at breweries. I will say the art work gave me pause and some of the names being a Christian but I don't know the background to comment.”

Was in the area just over 4 years ago for a family thing. Not familiar w Hammond, tried to find a close place for a sub and found this place. Had a nice small conversation with the person at the register finding out he has family close to us ? Few months later made a stop n’ grab while passing because it was worth the stop!!!

While mapping out my trip home today from camping in Valpo….I made sure to map this place. It wasn’t completely on the way or down the road. But OF COURSE I missed the exit & had to pay two tolls. Now I’m way too invested to turn back

Glad I did. They had a full staff, some patrons eating inside and now I see a big red chair fit for a queen! Also talked to the person I remember chatting 4 years ago while he was walking by stocking the shelves. Thank you for the great convo and also supporting the Girl Scouts in the area ?

“I have eaten this pizza since I was a little kid. It’s the same!! I’m so happy! It’s so cool to eat something that you grew up eating. The Barton’s crust is very specific and delicious. I love their cheese. My kids like it now so I get to eat it all the time. They have excellent cheese bread too. And even though we don’t eat meat anymore the meat eaters around have said that their sausage tastes the same too. I remember exactly what it tastes like! lol. Try it!”

However, avoid the lake perch at all costs!!! The breading totally overpowers the perch fillet. You can barely see the perch for the breading coating. I would say the breading weighs 50%+ of the shrimp. Shrimp wonderful, lake perch terrible,”

“Had lunch here, food was pretty good. Location was previously a different "UFO" restaurant, that had since closed and re-opened as the current Mexican place. At the time I was last there, the Google Maps entry for this place hadn't updated yet, so this review was added belatedly.”

“The breakfast was good no complaints. But the restaurant old 70s style which is fine but can smell cigarettes when you walk in. I’m not sure if you can smoke in the restaurant or not!”

Here they make very delicious ones, both meat and chicken, for me the Chicken one was the tastiest and with everything.

The tacos are also very delicious, although they do need to add guacamole.

“The joy I feel when I go to Home Plate Pub is indescribable! The bartenders are the friendliest and most efficient in all The Ville! The quality of the coke has gone down a bit, but the patrons that frequent Home Plate are some of the finest people that you’ll ever meet. The only other bar in Hessville that was FAR SUPERIOR the Home Plate was Brothers II, and sadly that fine establishment is no longer in business! RIP RON & SUE”

My only complaint was the sauce. It's not my usual taste preference for a mild sauce. Everything else was good.”

“I always get my favorite sandwich the cold cut trio and today I decided to go with Italian herbs and cheese bread and they did not disappoint. I really enjoyed using my subway coupon, which gave me no trouble, and the ladies there were polite and very helpful. Inside is clean and neat, and the veggies looked great this time. They must have fixed the temperature gage in the cooler under the veggies, because at on point they were getting freezer burn, and I had stopped going. But I returned and yes they have it all fixed. I'll be back to this subway for sure ?”
