Appetizers
Guacamole
Prepared several times daily, with avocado, onion, tomato, and just a touch of spice.
Nachitos
10 crisp corn taco chip spread with frijoles. Topped with real Mexican cheese, jalapeno peppers, and carrots.
Queso Fundido
Broiled Mexican cheese on a bed of sauteed onions, tomatoes, jalapeno peppers, and spices. Served with tortilla, shredded lettuce, and diced tomatoes.
Queso Fundido with Chorizo
Served with Mexican sausage added, makes it more hearty, and slightly spicy.
Bean and Chorizo
A great variation of the classic refried beans frijoles con chorizo is beans refried with Mexican chorizo mixed in.

Mexican Specialties
Carne Asada
Served with a raw onion garnish, Spanish rice, frijoles, shredded lettuce, and tomato salad.
Bistec Ranchero
Served with frijoles, Spanish rice, and a dinner salad.
Fajitas Real
Served with sweet onions and bell peppers. Served on a sizzling platter with a generous salad, Spanish rice, frijoles, sour cream, and tortillas.
Vegetable Fajitas
Our regular fajitas without the meat.
Pollo Endiablado
With paprika, garlic, and black pepper, and then slowly boiled. It is then covered with our spicy and smoky chipotle sauce. Served with Spanish rice, frijoles, tortillas, and a dinner salad.
Huevos Rancheros
Two eggs, traditionally sunny side up. Topped with our special salsa ranchera, and a side of our famous pork filling.
Huevos Con Chorizo
Mexican chorizo sausage and scrambled with two eggs.
Torta de Queso
A traditional Spanish omelet with onions, tomatoes, and stuffed with melted Mexican cheese.

I have nothing against El Taco Real, but it seems to be the favorite Mexican restaurant of quite a few non-Mexican people I know. I know someone who lives in Lowell and drives all the way to Hammond for this restaurant, when Mi Ranchito in Lowell has better food.

I worked here as a bus boy, I really hated closing because we would need to clean the walls in the back, all the floors, pretty much everything.
The whole kitchen needed to be cleaned, as if it was a huge dish.
I say this of course because it is very clean.
Salt, sugar & hot sauce bottle shakers were emptied every night. I really don't appreciate going to any kind of restaurant and the condiments bottles are sticky from days before, this place...

Very good tacos and burritos/ some of the best homemade salsa I’ve had in a long time. Very good Mexican food.

Parking: There is ample parking spaces in the front the side and in the back of the building restaurant.,

Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly / courthouse and police station across the street.
