Unfortunately this will be my first and last time eating here. My mother and I walked in Sunday evening, there were a few customers already there waiting for their orders. My mom ordered first and only ordered 9 tacos I ordered two dinners and an Elote, the first thing I noticed was the attitudes of the employees. Absolutely horrible attitudes and customer service, I greeted the young man who took my ordered and he just stared back at me as if it were an inconvenience to him to take my order. After paying I asked if my dinners came with drinks he said yes but never went to grab them, 10-15 minutes pass and every person waiting prior has received their orders and I’ve partially received mine minus the elote. Several more people have came in by this time and ordered, the only person that hasn’t received theirs is my mother and she placed her order before mine. Another 10-15 minutes pass and the people who came in after us have all received their orders, once again my mother hasn’t received hers and she only ordered 9 tacos I also haven’t received my elote. My mom asks for a full refund and the young lady at the register gets annoyed and storms off to the back, she comes back to the front and processed the refund, by this time I still have not received my elote. As we’re waiting for the elote I have to remind the young lady and the young man that I still had not received the rest of my order. A black young lady who’s handling the food emerges from the back with her hair all over the place with no hairnet on (unsanitary) and the nastiest attitude I’ve ever had the displeasure of witnessing. I’m extremely disappointed because I’ve heard good things about this place, but the nasty attitudes, carelessness, and indifference to the customers has completely deterred me from ever coming here again. Work on your customer service skills and be more selective in who yall hire.

I've eaten her for a few years. The food is ALWAYS consistently good. Fresh toppings, perfectly seasoned meat , just an overall great experience as a customer. The employees greet you with a smile and are very courteous. I'll be returning as always.
Needs a sit-down area while waiting for your order. However, the food we received was well worth the ( standing ) wait. It was my first time, seeing that I reside in another state; but when I come back through Indiana I will revisit and enjoy this hidden gem. Get out and try yourself a delicious prepared when you order meal. You won't regret it 😋

The $1 tacos are kind of back - only carnitas tacos and only on the weekends. Steak tacos are $2 on the weekends. I appreciate this change and am updating my review.
THE END OF AN ERA - NO MORE 'CHEAP' TACOS. $2.99 per taco now.
I was shocked to see it so empty on a Saturday and learned very quickly why everyone stopped coming immediately. This is a more than a double of what I was paying a few months ago. I get it, prices have gone up a lot in recent years. Given the local competition, these smaller tacos aren't anything to write home about. Fuerte really was the last bastion of cheap tacos in the area and had a huge fan base for its unique economic appeal, but at the mid price tier, it is largely forgettable.

The food is ok, the customer service sucks. Two women were working on the ice cream side. One of them was making an order, the other girl…. Idk what she was doing. Everything but taking my order. No one even said hello we’ll be right with you. I just walked out. Do better.

Best taco spot in Hammond! Everything on the menu is good! They're always busy (but quick) so u know it's good and worth the wait.
Just bought a dinner and I ask for a senior discount and the lady said only for mexicanos very much discrimination will never go back

I've been able to eat here twice now. Everytime I have the tacos they are nothing short of delicious. Great place to eat. Looking forward to trying some of the other food.
