The place is very clean and that's including the bathroom. Thats good. The hot dogs are looking old and undercooked. The buns are dry. The fries are delicious 😋

I love Zels roast beef, and usually they are on spot. I got 2 sandwiches and both had thick and tough beef on them, usually thin and delicious. Although very disappointing, I will get them again, if no change, I'll have to try Portillo sandwiches.

I waited there for 30 minutes on the inside. There’s somebody sitting down at the table. No one came to take my order. I’m patient. It’s busy whether we see it or not and I understand that but 30 minutes without a hello or anything was terrible. I’m pregnant and craving some cheese fries . Made me very upset. Never coming back . I wish it was how it used to be very disappointing

The beef is not the same beef that made Zels so popular. They changed to a very bitter tasting and tuff roast beef..the price is crazy..very sad it's not like it use to be..I won't go back.

Zel's roast beef has been an institution in Hammond. My dad would always pick it up for my grandmother in the 90s. To this day my mother loves it anytime I suggest the zel's. They are pricey but roast beef is expensive the quality is always consistent and the food is great. The lady working the front register has been there for about 25 years and she is still pleasant. I recommend if you are willing to spend a little more than fast food to get a quality beef sandwich.

I dont like going to a place where customer service is rude!! The food overpriced for small portions ! An then i wasnt giving no napkins no ketchup an they forgot sum of my order !! Never again im paying $22 for 2 burgers an 2 fries
Got the classic roast beef and chili cheese. Can't go wrong. Sometimes the meat is a little tough but the flavor is always good.
