This was an incredible dining experience. The food tasted awesome. The servers had a positive and professional attitude which was very pleasing. The hotel ambiences are quite esthetic. We, a family of 4 people ordered 2 mango Lassi, 1 butter chicken, 1 garlic naan, 1 cheese naan, 1 Hakka noodles, and 1 goat Biryani. The butter chicken and goat Biryani are one of the best I have tasted in a restaurant. If you are used to Indian spices the medium spice is more than sufficient. For people not used to much spices, mild may be a better option to consider. Prices were decent with taxes and tips in at $75. Will absolutely love to be back and refer the place. Only point to consider is that you should have the address because the entrance to the plaza is through a slightly back road although the restaurant itself is facing the main road.

Among the best Indian food on the northside - friendly staff - and actually more reasonably priced than most others!

Avinash was fantastic, attentive, kind and made us feel so welcome. This restaurant exceeded my expectations. The service was prompt and courteous, and the presentation of each dish was impressive. The flavors were well-balanced and clearly made with quality ingredients. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience.

At the Bengali Durga Puja festival in late September, 1947 Eatery served food that was nothing short of excellent, flavorful, authentic, and clearly prepared with care. Unfortunately, the caterer’s lack of experience with large crowds quickly became evident. Portions were insufficient, and several dishes ran out early, leaving many disappointed.
While 1947 Eatery’s culinary skill is undeniable, its logistical shortcomings overshadowed the experience. With better planning the team could transform great food into a truly satisfying event.

My wife, her mother and I have been here several times as we really enjoyed the food. The service has always been on the slower side. We were there last night and were not impressed. We were seated, someone brought waters to the table, then we sat. We sat for about 20 minutes before deciding to leave. Very disappointed.

Our first night in Auckland, staying in an area some would call an “Indian Quarter” (who knew there was such a thing!), lousy cold weather and we found ourselves at this place looking for a light meal…what could possibly go wrong?!… Well, nothing as it turns out. We ordered (amongst other things) a samosa-based snack that was claimed to be a little spicy, and so it was. Nice selection of beer and wine. Recommended without question.

Ella woth Offline - Great Butter Chicken flavor and Garlic Naan and Saffron Rice I’ve had in the city. Super comforting, warm, flavor components there, and friendly service. Place was clean and should be way busier than it was. Would definitely come again
