Decent quality Mexican food. Extremely wide variety in their menu though vegetarian options are limited. Multiple combos of meat items so this would be carnivore heaven. Ordered carry out and had low expectations based on what was there before, but they exceeded them.

To all the people that don’t like el Toto but love joes. Rate Acupulco joes five stars and raise the rating. look up EL TORO on maps to give the bad reviews. By posting one star on this YOURE HURTING JOES NOT EL TORO

This spot is so fantastic! Nice to escape the busyness of the Mass Ave. scene on the weekends - never seem to have to wait for a table. Spacious seating indoors and outdoors, and the staff is so friendly. Also appreciate that they follow COVID guidelines. The food is wonderful! Make sure you get the piña colada - you won't regret it! :))

El Toro Bravo has been such a great addition to the downtown area! As a resident at one of the apartment complexes nearby, we were so excited to try El Toro after a couple bad experiences at Aculpoco Joe's. There are so many reasons to give this place a try, first being their menu - it's huge, so there's sure to be something for everyone (from vegitarian options, to seafood options, to meat options. It's all there). I always have a hard time deciding what I want because there are so many things that sound delicious and all very generous portions. They also have a really fun drink menu and $5 margs! Seriously how can you pass that up? They also have a margarita flight that I've not tried yet but is on my list to try next! The service at El Toro is also top notch! The food comes out very quickly and is always piping hot and fresh. Servers stop by regularly to refill your chips and water (+10 points) and ask if you need anything else. At my most recent visit, I ordered a cheese dip and they gave me a free refill and apologized for the slow service even though I thought the food came out in a very appropriate amount of time. Regardless it was much appreciated and so refreshing to see how dedicated the staff was to making our experience the best. They have a big patio with outdoor seating, a really cool bar inside with barrel stools that I keep telling myself I need to sit at, and lots of bright colored murals on the walls inside. Bottom line: stop by and give this place a try your next trip downtown for tasty food and excellent service (and of course bottomless chips and salsa)!

It’s not Acapulco Joes any longer. The new signage isn’t up yet. It is a good Mexican restaurant that’s definitely worth a try. One surprise is they serve both the AJ’s original salsa and their own.

We were so sad to see Joe's shut down because of all the riot's Downtown, this like many others don't deserve to lose their lively hoods , it's a shame the people involved had no better solutions than to destroy people's lives while screaming for thier lives doesn't make sense. I pray for peace and rebuilding everyday.

This is NOT Acapulco Joe’s!!!! They have replaced the unique menu with a menu you can find at any Tex Mex style restaurant. El Toro’s food is horrible and unsatisfying. I have been going to Joe’s for over 30 years. Since I was a small boy. It was unique. The food, atmosphere and servers. I loved to reread the story of Joe on the menu and how he ended up in Indianapolis not Minneapolis. Then the God Bless America song that would come on at full volume while we ate. I always ordered the six nachos with jalapeños on top. I will miss this place very much and honestly I am a little heart broken. Joe’s was a part of my childhood that I will cherish forever.

Decor updated nicely, service is good. Food tasted very bland. I actually enjoyed Joes salsa, and would dine there just for that reason, squeeze tube and all, vs generic salsa everyone else serves. Missing the old Joes food that used to preside there.

This spot is really great. Super local. Super authentic. Awesome Margs. The food is mild enough for any pallet, don't worry, the have all the spices.

I was so surprised when I called myself going to Acapulco Joes cause I had not been there in a while and got down there and it was El Toro Mexican Restaurant. I had a very nice gentlemen named Adrian who helped me who I later found out he was actually the manager. Before I went I gad in my mind what I wanted. I looked at the menu which of course had sooooo many selections. The manager was very patience as I looked over the menu and asked 10,000 questions about different options. After about 30 minutes i finally decjded what I wanted because I kept thinking about Joe's. I ordered a #11 combo which was a taco, burrito and an enchilada and a side of beans. Didn't know the side of beans that were $2.25 was going to be enough for 3 people. Also in my order were chips, salsa and a red sauce. The salsa was good, the chips were really great because they were nice and crispy and not those thick ones. But let me tell u about the red sauce....it was simply delicious with the chips and next time I'm getting that and not the salsa. I was really appalled when my food came out like in 7 minutes. Overall my food was delicious and very meaty...i will be back. But let me tell you all about the decor...the wood they have on the walls is amazing...it was truly a special find, the bar is set up really nice and waiting for you.

We loved Acapulco Joe’s!! It gives a warm good cozy feeling just thinking about the good memories from Joe’s and our past. The last time we ate at Joe’s was 2-3 years ago. We might have been 1 in 3 customers. What astounded us was that a customer was smoking in the restaurant —and allowed too. We hope that Acapulco Joe’s does well under new management and moves back into a good, good place to enjoy a fine meal together for any family or a date night! Best to you Acapulco Joe’s! You are an Indy tradition to us!

The aromatic authentic flavor and smell from this merchant will keep you mouth watery. Nice out door seating spaces, keen streets view. Charming interior artistic design. Friendly staff and great service. It is also called El Toro. Good food served here. Both Mexicans and American favorites Breakfast.

Used to be my favorite restaurant in Indy. Food is normal and average now. Bring back old Joe's or give us the recipes.

Its technically an El Toro now... so sad. I remember eating there 30 years ago when it was the real deal.
