Friendly staff authenic atmosphere and scratch made dishes come together for a great experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the spanakopita dinner along with the Greek potatos . The suvlaki came out flaming and was delicious with the fresh pita.
Disappointed. On Sunday, Nov 4, I purchased two dinners for my elderly parents for my mom's birthday. She asked for baclava instead of birthday cake. When I took the carryout order to my parents, part of the order was missing. I called and spoke to Mohammed and explained it was a birthday dinner and we didn't get our entire order. He said he would make it up to us. I was too far away to drive back. Since they are closed on Monday, I couldn't go back until Tuesday evening. When I went in I told the young lady what happened and that I was told he would leave a note and that it would be made up to us . Nothing was made up to us. The young lady could have cared less. . Nothing. All I got was the rest of the order which had already been paid for on Sunday . I spent, with tip for a carryout order almost 100.00 dollars. The entire experience was ruined. It was a sad experience all the way around. They clearly don't care about their customers. From not getting the backava to sing happy birthday to my mom as she requested, to having to spend time and gasoline going back to pick up the rest of our order, the experience was ruined. They claim to be the best Mediterranean in Indianapolis. The customer service is horrible. The food wasn't the best we have had. So disappointed we chose this place. Go somewhere else.
I went with a large group and they were very accommodating and gave us excellent service amd truly went above and beyond. Tina was very hospitable and kind. It's a great place!
We’ve been here twice recently for family events after returning from Greece. It’s a great option with good service and good. We especially love the Saganaki.

Everyone was so friendly and made us feel special. Mohammed even ran next door to get milk for our grandson! Top notch, extremely kind, and delicious food.
I really enjoy greek food and I love this place! I usually get the traditional gyros and saginaki, but the last time we went, yesterday, I chose the Santorini pasta with shrimp. It was so delicious 😋 ! I don't know exactly how to explain it, but I felt like the food was made with love.

The Best Gyro in Indy!
I stopped by Athens on 86th for a quick lunch and tried their gyro sandwich — and wow, it was incredible. The pita was soft and warm, the gyro meat was perfectly seasoned and tender, and the tzatziki sauce was fresh, creamy, and full of flavor. Every bite tasted authentic, like something straight out of Greece.
The portion was generous, the ingredients were clearly fresh, and it was served hot and fast. You can tell they take pride in doing things right.
If you’re looking for the best gyro in Indianapolis, Athens on 86th is the place. I’ll definitely be back!

To start, I will say that the food was really good. I had the pastichio with green beans and rice. But I had a really poor experience with the pastichio and how the issue was dealt with. The outside was hot, but the middle was refrigerator cold… I told the waitress and she took my fork off the plate and rested it on my knife on the table and took the plate. (This was my first sign it wouldn’t be dealt with properly. I’ve taken many a food service class, and ever since I’m very particular since I know how things should be handled.)
She came back and the cheese was boiling on it. But it was the exact same plate… so she either microwaved it or put it in the oven a little longer. It was really burning hot on the outside but kind of just warm inside towards the bottom which makes me think microwave. The green beans were all shriveled. But all she said was “just be careful”. No “sorry” or anything. Overall it was just a sucky experience. I had been really excited because I saw they had baklava but after all that I didn’t want to order anything else.
It was also extremely expensive for what you get. But again, I really loved the flavors of the food. I just don’t know if I trust their food preparation…

This place never ceases to amaze me. Food comes out fresh or very hot. It's nice actually having to blow on your food to cool a little before digging in.
Authentic throughout the restaurant.

Awesome family ran business. We’ve never had an issue with food and only on instance with slow service. The owner was quick to respond and after was smooth sailing. They can’t fix issues if you don’t bring them up. Food is always wonderful. The owner typically stops by and says hello.

I have always enjoyed eating here in the past and have loved the gyros. This time I tried the salad with chicken and it was ok. The chicken was a bit dry. Service was always great.
Dietary restrictions: Not a lot of gluten free options.
