Food was Delicious. Customer Service was Terrible. Stopped in on 4/10/2024 around 8:45pm and observed customers ahead of me being treated rudely. There is No excuse for this but I chalked it up as maybe a bad Moment but I experienced the same Rude and dismissive Treatment when it was My turn as well. This was the Location on MLK.

Cashier had an issue with cc machine and started barking "CASH ONLY" as a greeting to everyone that came in restaurant. It was unpleasant and rudely unprofessional. Also they are very stingy with their sauce forcing you to pay extra for a sufficient amount. The meat was cooked well and tender but it had A LOT of fat. Not sure if I'll return.

I was so disappointed. I purchased a bbq pork on bun with sweet sauce. The meat and buns were dry but the sauce was good. I also purchased baked beans which were straight out the can mixed with BBQ sauce along with Mac and cheese that had been watered down probably for stretch. I had not been to BBQ Heaven in years and I won't be going back.

This place has been around for many moons, the food tastes the same and is still the best BBQ in the city. Friendly service and plentiful portions, the ribs are tender and delicious, the sweet potatoes pie is so refreshing and delicious. The ambiance is of a family environment, comfortable place to dine outside in the summertime. They also have firewood you can purchase; my family purchased the cherrywood and our BBQ was that talk of the neighborhood, the smell alone passed through the air, and we had a lot of people asking where we got our wood from.

2nd visit due to the delicious rib tips. I went back got a rib tips/rib dinner/potato pie and a pork on a bun. I feel the sentiment of most when it comes to sides I have never had Cole slaw that has a taste of sauerkraut it was disgusting ?. And Excuse me that I assumed/was under the impression that a pork sandwich ? meant pulled pork in BBQ language. Nope it was a chopped pork chop and that was infuriating to take a bite and it be that. I did not expect that and you could have informed me of such because I said pulled pork and the lady was like pork on a bun. ?? Green beans were not good and the sweet potato pie had zero nutmeg, cinnamon and soul it’s just a cute presentation. The only thing that saves this spot is the ribs and I mean only the ribs the rest is just not it and that is the truth.

This is my favorite BBQ place in Indianapolis. The people working there are very friendly and welcoming. The food is amazing. The Rib tips are fantastic, and the BBQ on a Bun(pulled pork sandwich) is great for a quick easy lunch. The sides they offer are also delicious, and you can wrap up the meal with a great slice of sweet potato pie. I highly recommend this spot for people that want to support small businesses, but also still get a great meal at affordable prices.

I've ordered large chilis here (and pork buns for my dad) for almost 30 years and it still tastes pretty good. Still wish the interior of the store was bigger since it can get very cramped on days when something big is happening in town (Circle City Classic, 500 race, Big 10 stuff, parties at the legion hall next door, etc.) or, failing that, you could get it Doordashed.
