Had been here around 20x growing up in Indy. Recommended it to family when lots of folks where in town recently. Everyone loved it. Great people, nearly great pizza.

I've went to Bazbeaux off in on for a portion of my life. But I've never appreciated it when it was in front of me. I stopped in to kill time. I was blown away. Their garlic break with cheese was both tasty and complex. And their Spicy Bee pizza was so good. Pizza with hot honey can really be off with the spice or the honey. Here, the spice and sweetness were both apparent, not hiding behind the other. Big props to my server too. He was the only waiter for 6 tables. When it was time for my check, he already had it printed in his apron. Some of the best service I've had in some times.

We recently visited Bazbeaux Pizza in Broad Ripple with a large group, and from start to finish, the evening was seamless. We were seated quickly despite our party size, and Alex greeted us warmly, providing attentive and outstanding service throughout the meal. Her timing was perfect—our appetizers arrived quickly, and the pizzas followed just as we finished snacking.
For starters, we ordered Garlic Bread with cheese, one without cheese, and a large House Salad. The bread was golden and flavorful, and the salad was fresh and generously portioned. We couldn’t resist adding a few sides of cheese to pair with the Cheesy Garlic Bread, which made for a fun appetizer spread while waiting for the main event.
When the pizzas arrived, they were nothing short of excellent. We enjoyed a classic Cheese Pizza, a Pepperoni Pizza, and the Spicy Bee Pizza (a newer specialty featuring pepperoni, Italian sausage, jalapeño, and hot honey). Each pie was perfectly baked, with Bazbeaux’s signature blend of provolone and mozzarella cheeses and their homemade tomato sauce. Everyone in our group found a favorite, and not a single slice went to waste.
Beyond the food, what makes Bazbeaux special is its story. The original Broad Ripple location opened in 1986 in a quirky old house that once belonged to the town’s gravedigger. It quickly became famous for its fresh-made pizzas served on rickety decks by the canal. By 2003, the restaurant moved just steps away to its current location, offering more seating and a larger kitchen while keeping the same whimsical spirit. Bazbeaux’s name itself comes from a French jester who fled to Florence, Italy, and became known for his creativity in food—a fitting inspiration for a restaurant that has won “Best Pizza in Indianapolis” year after year.
The menu reflects that creativity, with options ranging from traditional favorites to inventive specialty pies like the Mediterranean (chorizo, feta, spinach, roasted red peppers), the Quattro Formaggio (five cheeses with bacon and mushrooms), and the Garden (artichoke hearts, avocado, spinach, and ricotta). They even offer vegan-friendly pizzas with plant-based cheese and toppings.
Our total cost came to just over $10 per person, which felt like a bargain for the quality and quantity of food. Between the warm service, flavorful dishes, and the restaurant’s rich history, Bazbeaux Pizza in Broad Ripple is a true Indianapolis gem. We’ll definitely be back—whether for another family gathering or a cozy date night.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommended for anyone craving pizza with personality, history, and heart.

Sunday staff are rude and make passive aggressive comments to customers about tips on pickup orders. Is management not paying them a livable wage?
